KY Deed Bk A p. 49 This Indenture made this third of July in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety four between John GLEN and Abigail his wife of the County of Hardin and State of Kentucky of the one part and Jacob VERTREES of the County and state afs'd of the other part. Witnesseth that the said John GLEN and Abigail his wife for and in Consideration of forty eight pounds current money of the said state to them in hand paid the receipt where of is here by acknowledgod have bargained granted and sold and by these presents do Bargain and sell to the said Jacob VERTREES a certain tract or parcel of Land conntaining one hundred and seventy three acres of Land lying and being in the County of Hardin on the south side of Nolin being the waters of Green River & being part of MONTGOMERY's two thousand acre survey and bounded as followeth Towit Beginning at a sugartree and small Hickory on the south bank of Nolin about 62 poles below the Mouth of Middle Creek runing thence South nine degrees west two hundred and sixty two poles to stake on the original line thence south seventy degrees East one hundred and two poles to a stake thence North twenty East two hundred and twenty poles to a honey Locust and two sugar trees on McINTIRE's line on the Bank of Nolin thence down the same binding there on to the beginning. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of Land with its appertenances unto the said Jacob VERTREES his Heirs and assigns fore ever and siad John and Abigail his wife do further covenant and agree to and with the said Jacob VERTREES to warrant and for ever defend the affore said tract of parcel of Land with all its appertenances from every person or persons Whatsoever claiming the said Land in witness where of the said John and Abigail his wife have here unto set their hands and seals the day and year above written.
