Lawrence Vest, 67, of Perryville Road died Wednesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born May 28, 1934, in Casey County, he was the son of the late Raymond and Christine Wesley Vest. He was a retired truck driver, retired member of Teamsters Local 651, and former owner and operator of Vest Muffler. He was a former member, deacon, trustee and assistant Sunday School director at Gethsemane Baptist Church and a current member of Burgin Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Vest; two daughters, Vicki Martin of Danville and Billie Bailey of Lyman, S.C.; a son, the Rev. Joseph Vest of Clovis, N.M.; a sister, Letha Wheeler of Crittenden; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Burgin Baptist Church by the Revs. Joseph Vest, Bill Hall and Mike Hamby. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Marvin Atwood, Everett Stafford, Roy Best, Jackie Casey, Robert McDaniel, Jimmie Lair, Albert Cooper and Darrell Shannon.
Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Friday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home and after 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Memorials may go to the American Heart Association or Gideon's International.
