WALKER July 10, 1961 Breckinridge County KyArchives Obituaries Breckinridge County Herald-News, Friday, July 14, 1961 OBITUARY Published in the "Anaconda Standard Newspaper", Anaconda, Montana Mrs. Hattie B. WALKER, age 90 of 305 East 3rd Street, died Monday, July 10, 1961 at St. Ann Hospital, where she had been a patient for one week. Ill the past month. Mrs. WALKER was widely known in Anaconda, Montana (Deer Lodge County) and the Big Hole Basin, Montana (Beaverhead County) where she resided for many years. Word of her death brought sorrow to her many friends. Her husband, Ira B. WALKER died November 8, 1937 in Wenatchee, Washington (Chelan County). Mrs. WALKER was born in Hardinsburg, Ky (Breckinridge County) on August 14, 1870. She came to Anaconda as a young woman for her health in 1896. She returned to Kentucky, and was married there on January 23, 1899. Mrs. and Mrs. WALKER came to Anaconda in 1899. He was engaged in ranching with his grandfather and father, the late David D. WALKER early day pioneer of Anaconda and the Big Hole Valley. The family home was at Third and Cherry Streets in Anaconda. She was a member the Anaconda's Women's Club, the Country Club, and the First Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Walker is survived by: one son: Richard D. WALKER, Anaconda, Wyoming two sisters: Lucy M. HUGHES of Seattle, Washington (King County) Ida M. PATE of Madison, Tennessee (Davidson County) and a number of nieces and nephews Funeral services were held (no date) at the First Presbyterian Church with burial in the Hill Cemetery.
