Dr. John D. Wathen, 75, Henderson, died 3:18am Saturday, Aug. 8, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville. A retired dentist, he was a member of Holy Trinity Pro-Cathedral in Evansville and the Kentucky Dental Association. Mr. Wathen also served as a US Navy lieutenant in WWII and the Korean War. Survivors include three daughters, Lissa Wathen of Lexington, Annette Peterson of Bardstown, and Kristi Saffer of Louisville; one sister, Peggy Gager of Henderson; two brothers, James L. Wathen and Judge Will Tom Wathen, both of Morganfield; and two grandchildren. Services will be 10:30am Saturday at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church with the Rev. J. Edward Bradley officiating. Burial will be in St. Louis Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
