Mrs. Watlington was a native of Hardinsburg. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Douglas K. Clay and Philip R. Watlington. Survivors include a son, Douglas K. Clay, Jr.; a step-son, Dr. John B. Clay, Frankfort; two step-daughters, Mrs. William (Nancy) Riley, Las Cruces, N.M. and Mrs. Dale (Sue) Breaden, Fort Worth, Texas; a grand-daughter, Mrs. James (Susan Clay) Griggsby, Lexington; and two grandsons, Frank B. Clay, Paris and Charles D. Clay, Winchester. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 10, at the Hinton- Turner Funeral Home with Dr. John R. Rogers and the Rev. Ben Bogia, officiating. Burial was in the Paris Cemetery. Memorial contributions were asked to be made to the Carrie Clay Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o The Bourbon Bank, Paris, Ky.
