Clemie May Watson, 53, died February 5 at her home in Whitley City terminating 
a long illness. The deceased was born June 8, 1909 in Wayne County and was a 
daughter of Jason Cordell and Mary Cordell Strunk. She was a member of the 
Whitley City Church of God. She was married March 31, 1929 to Johnnie Watson 
of Smithtown who survives. Besides her husband she is survived by two 
daughters, Mrs. Lexie Wright, Cincinnati and Miss Lillie Watson, Whitley City; 
three sons, Bravel Watson, Wiborg; Vinson Watson, Eaton, Ind.; Millford Earl 
Watson, Whitley City; her mother, Mrs. Mary Strunk, Whitley City; six 
brothers, Mitchell Cordell, Revelo; Ted Cordell, Marshes Siding; William 
Cordell, Revelo; Lloyd Cordell, Revelo; Ellis Cordell, Indiana; Dester 
Cordell, Cincinnati, Ohio; three sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Wilson, Somerset; Mrs. 
Carrie Salters, Florida; and Mrs. Pearl Hickman, Pine Knot. Also surviving are 
ten grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday at 1 p.m. from the 
Whitley City Church of God with Rev. J. H. Bryant officiating. Burial was in 
Flat Rock Cemetery.
