PAOLI -- Lester "Pete" Webb Sr., 79, Paoli, formerly of Midlothian, Ill.,
died at 9:45 a.m. Saturday at Veterans Hospital in Louisville, Ky.
Born in Foxtown, Ky., he was the son of John Harlan and Leona (Carroll)
Webb. He married Sarah Mildred Curtis on Feb. 19, 1942, and she survives.
He was a retired receiving clerk at Garden City Envelope Company in
Chicago, and served as a World War II Army combat engineer.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Sarah M. Webb of Paoli, are two sons:
Lester Webb Jr. of Paoli and Dennis Webb of Bourbonnais, Ill.; one
daughter, Vicki Smith of Paoli; one sister, Dora Rose of Cincinnati; 12
grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, 10 brothers and
sisters and four grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Kemple Funeral Home, Paoli, with Bro.
Philip Andry officiating. Burial will follow in Paoli Community Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday
at the funeral home.
