"C. W. (Dan) Wells. Funeral services for C. W. (Dan)Wells, 81, a retired farmer
of Burkesville, were held at 2 pm on Wednesday, May 27, at the Ballou Funeral
Home with the Rev. Glen Thrasher in charge. Interment was in the Burkesville
Cemetery. Mr. Wells passed away at the Cumberland County Hospital at 5 m on
Monday, May 25th. He was born in Cumberland County on April 1, 1889 and was a
member of the Burkesville Methodist Church. He is survived by two sons, Oscar of
Burkesville, and Marvin of Bakerton; one daughter, Mrs. Anna Kate Keaton,
Bakerton; two brothers, L. T. Wells, Lexington, M. C. Wells, Burkesville; two
sisters, Mrs. Kate Winfrey and Mrs. Cora Ferguson, both of Burkesville. Also
four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Harlan Judd,
Millard Lollar, Robert Wells Keaton, David Wells, Robert Coffey, Benny Dobbs.
Ballou Funeral Home as in charge of arrangements."
