Laverne Ash Wernz
July 15, 1924-April 2, 1998

PAOLI -- Laverne A. Wernz, 73, Paoli, died at 6:50 p.m. Thursday at the
Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany.

Born in Bullitt County, Ky., she was the daughter of Horace E. and Eva
(Fishburn) Bryant.

She retired as a dietary aide for the Orange County Hospital after 22 years
and attended the Little Mission Church in Hardinsburg.

She is survived by three daughters: Bertha Ashley of Salem, Linda Fancher
and Eva Ash, both of Paoli; one sister, Dorothy B. Willard of Paris, Fla.;
three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by 12 sisters and brothers and one grandson,
Kenneth Sanders.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the McAdams Mortuary in Paoli with
Bro. Nolan Stroud officiating. Burial will be in the Stampers Creek
Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the mortuary.
