OBITS: Whaley & connected families Page 3, LOG CABIN, 9 Feb. 1901 Mrs. Sarah J. WHITAKER, a most est-able lady died at K-lat Tuesday, aged 62 (? Not sure about the 2) years. She was a sister of Mr. A. T. RANKIN, of -air, her father, being the late Willie RANKIN, and was the widow of I. Newton WHITAKER who died years ago. Her surviving children are: John, S. T., and Benjamin WHITAKER, and Mrs. Emma ASBERRY, all of this county; Mrs. Nannie GARDNER, wife of Rev. Jo. GARDNER, of Hillsboro, and Carlos M., who has been a soldier in the Philippines but sailed for San Francisco several weeks ago. The remains were buried at Benson cemetery Thursday, but in accordance with her desire the funeral sermon will not be preached until the arrival of her son Carlos. From: "H.
