I, John White, being weak in body but sound in mind, calling to mind the uncertainty of life and the certainty of death, think it right to make some arrangement in my worldly affairs, do make and ordain the following to be my last will and testament. Item the 1st. Tis my will that my body be decently entombed and hope my soul will go to God who gave it. Item 2. I give and bequeath to my beloved wife, Polly, all my personal property after paying all my just debt, to her own proper use and benefit during her life and at her decease, to decend to my children and to be divided equally amongst them all. Item 3. The land that I now live on, about one hundred and forty-seven acres, I also give and bequeath to my be- loved wife, Polly, with all the appentinances those unto belonging, during her natural life and at her decease to be divided equally amongst all my children. Item 4. Tis my will that my part of the Estate of my Grandfather, Francis Armstrong of Pennsylvania, be divided equally also amongst all my children. Item 5. Tis my wish that my dearly beloved wife, Polly, act as Executrix to this, my last will and testament. In testimony hereof, I set my hand and seal, this 8th day of December, 1822.
