McCreary County Record, McCreary County, Kentucky 
Tuesday, August 29, 1967, McCreary County Record:
Denton Whitehead, 60, a resident of Hill Top, died Friday, August 25, at Scott 
County Hospital./ The deceased was born March 21, 1899, in Wayne County, Ky. 
and was a son of the late William Whitehead and Sarah Tucker Whitehead. He 
followed the occupation of mining. He was a member of the Pleasant Rock 
Baptist Church, Smithtown./ Survivors are his wife, Ethel Ross Whitehead, 
three daughters, Mrs. Edna Daugherty, Hill Top, Mrs. Audrey Jones and Miss 
Wilma Whitehead, Sidney, Ohio, three sons, George Whitehead, Ardell Whitehead, 
Hill Top, Glen Whitehead, Dayton, Ohio, one brother Calvin Whitehead, Oneida, 
Tenn. and Mrs. Loue Jones, a sister of Hill Top./ Funeral services were held 
Sunday at 1 p.m. in the Pleasant Rock Baptist Church with Rev. Cal Wilson and 
Rev. Alvin Perry officiating. Burial was in the Nancy Graves Cemetery./ Pall 
bearers were Roger New, Esau Ross, Lonzo Ross, Milford Ross, Jim Maxwell and 
Jerry Ross.
