Tuesday, February 20, 2001, McCreary County Record:
Ethel Marie Whitehead, 84, Stearns, died Saturday, February 17, 2001 at Lake 
Cumberland Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 20, 
at 1:00 p.m. at McCreary County Funeral Home with Rev. Glen Whitehead and 
David Troxell officiating. Burial was in Nancy Grave Cemetery./  Born March 
21, 1916 in Worley, KY to Hannibal Ross and Cynthia Wilson Ross, Whitehead was 
a homemaker and a member of the House of Prayer. She was married to Denton 
Whitehead./  Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; two 
sisters, Grace Barnett and Creasie Ross; five brothers, Jasper, Leamon, 
Charlie, Ernest and Lloyd Ross; one granddaughter; Deloris Daugherty; and one 
great granddaughter, Stephanie Laxton./  Survivors include George Whitehead, 
and Ardell (and Judy) Whitehead, all of Hill Top, KY; Rev. Glen (and Jewell) 
Whitehead of Revelo, KY; Wilma (and William) Sterling, Audrey (and Dallas 
Elkins) Jones, all of Stearns, KY and Alma Daugherty of Hill Top, KY 13 
grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren./  Also surviving is a special great 
great grandchild, Morrison Kyle Daugherty; one special friend Elizabeth 
Hardwick; and two special dear friends, Zella Lee Daugherty and Jenny 
Strunk./  McCreary County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
