Tuesday, October 7, 1969 McCreary County Record:
Lindie Whitehead, born July 12, 1875 in Wayne County. The daughter of Issac 
Mason and Rhoda New Mason, who both preceded her in death, died at Scott 
County Hospital Sept. 30, 1969, being 94 years, 2 months and 18 days old./ She 
married Bennie Whitehead (who preceded her in death) Dec. 24, 1899. To this 
union was born 6 children all still living: Oscar Whitehead of Whitley City, 
Luther Whitehead of Whitley City, Perlie Phillips of Marion, Ind., Grover 
Whitehead of Whitley City, Goldie Matthews of Whitley City and Leamon 
Whitehead of Whitley City; 22 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 3 
great-great-grandchildren, and a host of friends and relatives to mourn her 
passing./ The funeral was conducted October 3, at Hickman Funeral Home by Rev. 
Clark Stephens, singing by the Choir of the Second Baptist Church. Burial in 
Clark Cemetery in Wayne County.
