Leroy Lynch Whitworth, 84, Custer, died Aug. 31, 2008, at his residence. He was born Feb. 28, 1924, in Custer, the son of the late Victor Hugo and Dora Weaver Lynch Whitworth.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Polly Bruner and Hazel Bennett.

Mr. Whitworth is survived by his wife, Reba Maxine Harned Whitworth, Custer; a son, Sammy Whitworth, Custer; a sister, Edith Marie Skaggs, Elizabethtown; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services were held Sept. 2 from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home. Burial was in Custer Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Joe, Jerry and Bobby Bennett, V.O. Lynch, Paul Chandler and Matt Lamkin.
