He was born August 31, 1890, in Wayne County, but was a resident of McCreary County, most of his lifetime. He was a son of the late Elihu Wilson and Louisa Maxwell Wilson and was a member of the Beech Grove Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nona Wilson, Hill Top; three daughters, Mrs. Thelma Massengale, Melbourne, KY; Mrs. Bertha Hickman, California, KY and Mrs. Maggie Watson, Alexandria, KY.; one daughter, Mrs. Gladys Foster, Hill Top, by his previous marriage to Arizona Ross who preceded him in death; two stepsons, Edwin Gentry and Don Gentry, both of California, KY.; one brother, Burl Wilson, Revelo; two half-brothers, Kenny and Maynard Wilson, and one half-sister, Mrs. Pearl Jones of Hill Top. Funeral services were held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Pleasant Rock Baptist Church, Smithtown, with the Rev. Hobert Vaughn and the Rev. Elmon O. King in charge of the service. Burial was in Hickman Cemetery with Hickman Funeral Home in charge. Active pall bearers were Clifford, Chester, and James Wilson, Phillip Dolen, Wiley Spradlin and Alvis Privett.
