John W. Wilson, 66, retired coal miner, died March 5th at his home at Delta, 
Ky. The deceased was born July 11, 1896, in Wayne County and was a son of 
Elihu Wilson and Louisa Maxwell Wilson. Mr. Wilson worked for Stearns Coal 
and Lumber Company at their Worley mine during his active years. He was a 
member of the Worly Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Martha Whitehead 
Wilson; one sister, Mrs. Cynthia Troxell, Ison, Ky., and three brothers, 
Francis Wilson, George Wilson and Burl Wilson, all of McCreary County. 
Funeral services were held from the home Friday at 2 p.m. with Rev. James 
Godsey of Delta in charge. Burial was in the Pine Hill Cemetery.
