Joseph Wilson

     I know all men by these presents that I, Joseph Wilson of Woodford County 
and State of Kentucky being of  sound judgment this thirteenth of January One 
Thousand Eight Hundred One do constitute and appoint this my last Will and 
Testament to wit:
     First, I leave unto my beloved wife Sarah the one Equitable Third part of 
the profits of the plantation on which I live during her natural life—and if 
the plantation should be sold as hereafter shall be directed in that case she 
is to be entitled to the one third of interest of the money so got or benefits 
of the third of the property so purchased with the said money.
     Also I leave unto my aforesaid wife the one third of all my personal 
estate after my just debts are paid and twenty pound taken out of it as I shall 
hereafter bequeath.
     Secondly, I leave unto my step daughter Peggy Sterett alias Peggy 
McCleland ten pounds.
    Thirdly, I leave unto my step daughter Polly McCleland ten pounds.
    Fourthly, I leave unto my two sons John and Samuel a gentle suit of clothes 
each to be purchased out of the money now owing to me.
    Fifthly, I leave the balance of my Estate, let it consist of what it will 
equally between each of my children, that is to say Joseph, Peggy, John, 
Samuel, and Sarah. Except thirty pounds which is to be deducted out of Joseph’s 
part which he has heretofore got in two mares.
    Sixthly, I authorize my Executor hereafter mentioned to sell and convey the 
land which I have in Mason County. Also authorize my executors as above to make 
the dividing line with Mr. Thomas Young and convey to him agreeable to contract 
and take his conveyance for the part that falls to me in the name of my heirs.
     Seventhly, I appoint and constitute my wife Sarah and my son in law John 
Sterett executors of this my Will and Testament. Witness my hand and seal this 
day above written.  Joseph Wilson

       Further I give the sole power to my brother Samuel Wilson to settle, 
sale, and convey all my part of my father John Wilson, Deceased estate in any 
manner he may think fit and it is my wish that this clause be added to my will 
made on the same day.  Joseph Wilson.

At a Court held for Woodford County on this 6th day of April 1801.
This will of Joseph Wilson, Deceased was brought unto Court and proven by the 
oaths of Samuel Wilson, Adam McConnell, Sam’l Logan, and John Dickerson and 
ordered to be Recorded.  Teste: George Brook CLK.
