He was born in Bedford County, Virginia, April 24, 1765. He enlisted in that county April 24, 1780 and served until 1783 under Captain John Baley and Colonel George Rogers Clark in Virginia troops. He married Nancy Reese. Note: He died March 31, 1849. His children were William, Martha, Sarah, Rhoda and Rebecca.
