Wood November 27 1821 - February 11 1861 Hart-Jefferson County KyArchives Biography Author: The Biographical Encyclopaedia of Kentucky, J. M. Armstrong & Company, 1878 Judge Henry C. Wood, Lawyer, was born November 27, 1821, at Munfordville, Kentucky. He graduated at Centre College, in 1841; chose the profession of law, and entered on the practice in his native town, where he soon took a leading position among the first lawyers of his section; served, for a time, as County Attorney; in 1848, was elected to the Legislature; in 1850, located in Louisville; in 1858, was elected Judge of the Court of Appeals, but died February 11, 1861. Judge Wood was physically delicate, but had a mental and moral organization of the highest grade; and his learning, professional ability, and principles of justice and right, placed him among the most valuable rising men of his day.
