Winn May 27, 1861 Trimble County KyArchives Deed Rice Farm, Trimble County Kentucky Written: May 27, 1861 Recorded: August 26, 1861 This indenture made and entered into the 27th day of May 1861 between Robert M. Winn of the State of Arkansas of the first part and A. J. Wright of the County of Trimble and State of Kentucky, witness and for consideration of the sum of one hundred twenty dollars in hand paid and the further consideration of the said A. J. Wright agreed to aforesaid and pay the following liabilities and owned by Minor Winn, Decd, the father of said party of the first part to the following previous vi, to A. J. Wright Three hundred and forty dollars, to W. J. Wright Fifty dollars, to L. G. Peak Twenty eight dollars, H. Yance Twenty dollars, Wm. B. Winslow Fifty dollars, & Samuel De Haven Twenty five dollars, A. J. Butler Eighty four dollars and William F. Peak Twenty dollars for the above consideration the said Robert M. Winn has and by these presents grant bargain sell and convey unto the said A. J. Wright his heirs and assigns forever all the interest he has in and to a tract of land lying and being in the County of Trimble and State of Kentucky and known as the Rice farm it being the interest conveyed by James Caplinger & wife, Henry Adams & wife, to the said Winn the whole tract containing about one hundred & thirty acres. The said party of the first part has also assigned the title bond of the other heirs of Isaac Johnson, Decd., for the remaining portions of the whole tract. A reference is made to the suit of said R. M. Winn against Isaac Johnson and proceedings therein for a full description & particulars. Said suit is pending in the Trimble Circuit Court Kentucky to have and to hold unto the said A. J. Wright his heirs and assigns forever the above described tract is parcel of land and said party of the first part hereby covenants to and with the party of the second part that he will and his heirs Shall commit and forever defend the title of said county premises against the claims of himself his heirs & those claiming by through or under him or them but none other in witness whereof the said Robert M. Winn hath hereunto subscribed his name date first written. (Signed) R. M Winn State of Kentucky Trimble County I, W. F. Peak, Clerk of the Circuit Court for said County do certify that on the 27th day of May 1861, the foregoing deed from R. M. Winn to A. J. Wright was produced to my predecessor in his office and acknowledged by R. M. Winn, party thereto, to be his act and deed as appears from an endorsement thereto in the handwriting of my predecessor in these words and --- -to wit (acknd 27th May 1861 by R. M. Winn. W. Samuel, Clk, on this day the same was filed in the office, whereupon the said deed together with the Certificate hath been duly recorded in my office.
