OBIT: Wright, James H, 1915 - born Nelson Co Original Obituary Copied From The Weston Chronicle Friday 01-08-1915 - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - ------------------------------------------------------- James Wright - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - ------------------------------------------------------ Again the Death Angel has visited this community and removed from it an old and valued citizen in the person of James H. Wright who died at his home on East Spring Street Saturday morning at four o'clock. His death had been hourly expected for many days, and it was only the kind attention given him along with the quiet, even temperment of the man that prolonged his days. He was born in Bardstown Kentucky on 01-14-1834: hence he lived almost four scoreyears and one. His first wife was Virginia Sheeley, at whose death the young father was left with two little girls, Miss Annie Wright of St Joseph and Mrs. Hattie Holladay of Weston. He was married a second time to Miss Juilette Bramel on 12-13-1864 at Savannah Missouri. She with his eleven children, twelve grandchildren and two great children survive. His second set of children are: Mrs P.E. Moore, Mokane, Mrs. O.D. Wharton, Kansas City, Mrs. F.S. Burgess, Dearborn, Mrs. J.R. Davis, Mexico, James R. Wright, Woodruff, P.B. Wright St. Joseph, Mrs. Sam Scott, Mr. F.A. Wright and Mrs. Martin Scott, Weston. Mr. Wright had been a member of the Baptist church since his boyhood, so his funeral was conducted by Rev. Lee Harrell of the Liberty Baptist church Sunday afternoon at his late residence, and the remains were followed by a large concourse of relatives and freinds to his final resting place at Pleasant Ridge. Calm and serene as the close of a pleasant summer day was the close of this long and useful life, the weary feet that through these busy years had pressed the shores of time, lingered but a moment in the valley where they brushed the dew of Paradise, and now he knows the walks of God.
