IN consideration of the faithfulness and advanced age of my negro man Jack and his kindness and obedience as a servant, I bequeath unto him so much money out of my estate as will be sufficient to purchase sd. negro for life. But sd. bequest is to be controlled by my executors and when purchased to make his own selection as to a home as a free man for the ballance of his life. I desire it distinctly understood that my executors shall appropriate a sufficiency of my estate to the purchasing and liberating of sd. Negro man Jack.
