Submitted by Sherri Hall NOTE: I have no connection, no further information and am not seeking additional information. >From the Danville Advocate Messenger, 22 Apr 2003 Services for Andrew "Junie" Yates Jr., 65, of Rice Road, Lancaster, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Stith Funeral Home by the Rev. Daniel Wilson. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens. He died Sunday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born March 12, 1938, in Boyle County, he was the son of the late Andrew and Mary F. Crain Yates. He was a horseman and farmer. He was a trainer of thoroughbreds for the James S. Jones Farm and Bluegrass Farm, and was farm manager at Silver Lining Stables. Survivors include his wife, Delores J. Johnson Yates; two sons, Andrew Yates III of Stanford and David Yates of Hustonville; two daughters, Teresa A. Crowe of Stanford and Tammy S. Greer of Casey County; a brother, Gordon Yates of Lexington; a sister, Ruby Yates of Lexington; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be Robbie and Tony Wheeler, Mark, Keith and Michael Yates, Ray Cochran, Jimmy Johnson and Steven Campbell. Honorary pallbearers will be Lewis Denny, Donnie Shearer, Dean Yates, Buster and Jessie Preston, Shug Yates and Don Schulle. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today.
