KY Deed Bk C., p 86-87 Yates; Young; Clifton; Sympson; Davis; Dudley This Indenture made this the second day of Jany in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and four Between Charles Yates of the County of Adair and State of Kentucky of the one part and Ezekiel Young of the County of Green and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Charles Yates for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge have Given Granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth give grant bargain and sell unto the said Ezekiel Young a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Washington and State aforesaid on the head of the west fork of clear creek a branch of the Rolling fork of Salt river containing one hundred acres and bounded as follows. Beginning in ______ Cliftons corner a hickory and white oak thence south 58o west one hundred and eighty poles to a black oak Sassafras and dogwood thence South 2o east eighty nine poles to a black oak red oak chestnut and hickory on a nob thence North 2o west eighty nine poles to the Beginning. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances unto the said Ezekiel Young and his heirs forever and the said Charles Yates doth covenant to and with the said Ezekiel Young to warrant and defend the said tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances forever from all and every person or persons that shall or may hereafter claim the same unto the said Ezekiel Young and his heirs forever in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the day and year first above written. I, John Reed clerk of the County Court for the County aforesaid do hereby Certify that on the 2nd day of July 1804 This Indenture was proved before me in my office to be the act and deed of the within named Charles Yates by the oath of Robert Young and Garret Davis two of the subscribing witnesses thereto And that on the day of the date hereof the same was fully proved by the oath of Thomas Dudley another subscribing witness thereto and thereupon admitted to Record.
