This is a tax list from Whitley Co. Ky. I went there to search for clues as to who 
Joel A. Hampton's father was. This tax list proves Joel was in Whitley Co. 
three years before he married Nancy Bennett/do of Ed Bennett.

Using this tax list and the 1850 Whitley Co. Ky census, as well as Goodspeed on Hawkins 
Co. TN I believe Jordan Hampton is Joel's father and Elizabeth Johnson is Joel's mother.
