CHARLES WAYNE BENNETT, 39, of Buffalo died September 6, 2004, at University of Louisville Hospital. He was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church near Buffalo and was an employee of Altec in Elizabethtown. He is survived by his parents, James and Lula Bell Walker Bennett of Buffalo: a brother, Michael Bennett of Mt. Sherman: and a niece and nephew. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. tomorrow at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with the Revs, Carlos Compton and Roger Pepper officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Visitation will begin after 3 p.m. today at the funeral home. JOHN FRANKLIN JONES, 54, of Hodgenville died August 29, 2004, in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He was a real estate investor, former realtor, past president of the Hodgenville Rotary Club where he was instrumental in the restoration of Abraham Lincoln’s statue on the town square, a gradate of the University of Kentucky and a member of First Baptist Church in Hodgenville. He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Harp Jones. He is survived by his mother, Gertrude Peace Jones of Hodgenville; and a brother, Jeffrey Jones of Louisville. Funeral services were held September 3, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with the Rev. Isaac McDonald officiating. Burial followed in Red Hill Cemetery. BESSIE BROWN KEITH, 91, of Hodgenville, September 5, 2004, at Caritas Medical Center in Louisville. She was a housewife and a member of First Baptist Church in Hodgenville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Keith; a daughter, Mamie Rose Keith; two sons, Gordon Keith and Kenneth Keith; her parents, Ed and Mittie Brown; four sisters, Ethel Short, Carrie Haggard, Frances Jaggers and Estelle Wilkerson; and three brothers, Lawrence Brown, Arvil Brown and W.G.H. Brown. She is survived by two nieces and four great-nieces. The funeral is today at 11 a.m. at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with the Rev. George smith officiating. Burial will follow in Red Hill Cemetery. Visitation will continue until time of funeral today. LILLIE LATHAM, 85, of Hodgenville, died September 3, 2004, at her residence. She was a farmer, a member of Hodgenville United Methodist Church, the Tonieville Homemakers and Hodgenville Women’s Methodist Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Latham; and her parents, Bud and Perlitha Guff Brown. She is survived by a daughter, Joyce Latham Jones of Concord, Mass: a son, Duane Latham of Heath, Texas; a stepson, Joe K. Latham of New Castle, Ind; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. The funeral was Sept. 5 at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home with the Rev. Carlton Puryear officiating. Burial was in Red Hill Cemetery. FRED LOUIS MILLER SR., 77, of Campbellsville died August 29, 2004, in New Port Richey, Fla. He was a professed Christian, a member of St. Adain’s Episcopal Church, an Army Veteran pharmacist and minister having served in both vocations in Kentucky and Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Joseph Miller and Ethel Hahn Miller. He survived by his wife, Virginia Miller of Michigan: a daughter, Karen Burke of Florida; two sons, Joseph Miller of Virginia, and the Rev. Fred “K.J.” Miller of Campbellsville; six grandchildren; and a great grandson. Funeral services were held September 2 at Parrott and Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville with the Rev. Fred Miller Jr. and the Rev. Michael Goodwin officiating. Burial followed at Brookside Cemetery. MARGIE HEATH ROUTT, 73, died September 6, 2004, at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville. She was a member of Nolynn Baptist Church in Hodgenville, and a former employee of the Holiday Inn North in Elizabethtown. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Dock and Josephine Van Cleave Heath; three sisters, Imogene Heath Bright, Alice Heath Brown and Catherine Heath; and a brother, Clarence “Sonny” Heath. She is survived by her husband, Harold P. Routt; two daughters, Mary Alice Bault and Rebecca Routt Tedder, both of Hodgenville: two sons, Gary W. Routt and Harold Ray Routt, both of Hodgenville; two sisters, Dorothy Heath Cruse of Pikeview and Frankie Heath Bell of Hodgenville; a half-brother, Ben Burba Jr. of Florida; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The funeral will be tomorrow at 3 p.m. at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with the Revs. Gerald Gardner and Dan Flanagan officiating. Burial will follow in Barren Run Cemetery. LEOTA JEWELL VAUGHN, 81, OF Upton, died September 1, 2004, at University of Louisville Hospital. She was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Alice Roten Jewell; and two brothers, Rufus Jewell and Donnie Jewell. She is survived by her husband, Thaniel Vaughn: two daughters, Oralene Whitlow and Lois Jenkins, both of Elizabethtown; a son, Nathan Vaughn Jr. of Sonora; a sister, Hazel Wright of Magnolia; seven grandchildren: and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sept 3, at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Glenn Stasel officiating. Burial followed in Upton Cemetery.
