This Indenture made this 5th day of November 1827, witnesseth that Lot P i t m a n Clerk of the Laurel County Court, by order of Saml. McHargue, Jacob Boy??, Jed. Hibbard, David Weaver, William G. Pitman and Mark Dees, Esqrs. gentlemen Justices of said County Court, do place and bind Isaac Farris, orphan of James Farris Dec'd, aged 13 years the 9th day of Febuary last past, an apprentice to Willis Bunton with him to dwell, and him to serve, from this date hereof, until the said apprentice shall arrive at the age of 21 years. During said term he shall serve his sd. master faithfully on all lawful business, and shall honestly and obediantly, demean himself towards him and obey all his lawful commands during sd. term and that sd. Willis Bunton and Jas. McNull and William Farris his securties for themselves, their heirs Etc. and doth covanant and agree to, and with the said Lot P i t m a n Clerk as aforesaid, his representive and successors, in office that the sd. Isaac Farris as an apprentice in the trade and avocation of farming shall well instruct during sd. term ,and provide and allow the sd. apprentice, sufficent, meat, drink, apparel, washing, lodging, and mending and all other things fit and necessary for an apprentice. And shall teach or cause to be taught, reading, writting, and arthmetic including the rule of three, and pay him three pounds and ten shillings and a decent new suit of clothes at the expiration of sd. term of service.
