This indenture made the 2nd day of July 1827.
Witnesseth that Lot P i t m a n, Clerk of the County Court of Laurel
County, by order of Jarvis Jackson, Wm. Freeman, David Weaver, Jacob Boyer(?),
Jed'h. Hibbard, Wm. Pitman & Mark _______, Justices of the sd. County
Court do place & bind Sally Ann Nise orphan of Nancy Nise aged 7 years
the 25th day of September (last past?)

____ her sd. Master & all his Lawful Commands
obey during sd. term. And the sd. Reuben Jackson & Jarvis Jackson for
themselves their heirs Exor's. & Admr's. doth covenant & agree
with the sd. Clerk his representatives & Successor in office that the
sd. Sally Ann Nise as an apprentice in the trade & avocation of House
wifery, Shall & will instruct during the term afores'd. & provide
& allow the sd. apprentice Sufficient meat, drink, apparel, washing,
lodging & mending, & all other things fit & necessary for an
apprentice & shall teach or cause her to be taught reading writing
& pay her three pounds ten shillings & a decent new Suit of clothes
at the expiration of sd. term of Service. Witness our hands & Seals
the day & date above written.
