I Christopher C. Freeman of Laurel County and State of Kentucky being in a bad State of health Bout of Sound mind and Disposeing memory and Knowing the uncertainty of life and Certainty of death and being desirous of making some disposition and regulation(?) of my worldly Affairs do make and publish the following as my last Will and Testament.

 

First, I give and bequeath to my wife Elizabeth Freeman all my personal property including my household and Kitchen furnature One horse(?) ___ Cow(?) Some hogs a buggy and some farming ___ together with all(?) Description of personal property I may _____________ Whether the same is specially mentioned(?) above or not. I also give and bequeath to said(?) Wife the interest or rent I am to have  in the Crop which is now growing on my farm and it is my will and desire that my said Wife Elizabeth shall have ____ I will and bequeath to her One third of what ever Sum my Grandfather Smith and Beverly(?) Anderson as my Guardians(?) may be _________ to me(?) the above and foregoing bequests to my wife are absolute and without any C**tation or Correction.

 

I further give and bequeath to my Loving(?) wife Elizabeth for and during her life, all that part of my land and premises which were set apart to and Constituted the dower of my MotherMary G.(?) Freeman in Said dower. The ballance of said tract of land I give and bequeath to my heir or heirs and after the death of my wife the whole of said land and premises including the part devised to my wife as above is to go to my heir or heirs.

 

I give and bequeath to my half sisters Mary Isabella and Missouri ****** Anderson and my wife's little boy William Harrison(?) Andrews(?) fifty Dollars each out of the money that is due me from William B. Moore administrator of my father's estate if the Sum or that much Can be collected. The ballance of whatever Sum that may be due to me from my Grandfather and B. W. Anderson my guardian(??) after deducting One third for my wife  as before Stated I give and bequeath to my heir or heirs and also the ballance of whatever may come to me from W. B. Moore as aforesaid After deducting the fifty Dollars each to my half sister and my wife's little boy as aforesaid, I give and bequeath such ballance to my heir or heirs.

 

It is further my will and desire that my heir or heirs shall have a land warrant which is now in the hands of B. W. Anderson and which was issued to me on account of my father's service in the War of 1812. Lastly It is my will and desire that my wife Elizabeth should be the executrix Of this my Last Will and also the guardian of my children and as such I hereby request that she may act as executrix and guardian as aforesaid and without giving any Security. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto Subscribed my name and affixed my seal This 8th day of June 1853.

A paper purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Christopher C. Freeman was presented in Court and proven by the oaths of Wm. H. Rendall and William L. Hark******(?) the Subscribing witnesses thereunto whereupon it is ordered by the Court that the said writing be recorded as and for the Last Will and Testament of said C. C. Freeman Deceased and Elizabeth Freeman the widow and the person nominated in said will as executrix thereof came into Court and Took the necessary oath and entered the necessary Bond as Such. She was also in _________  to said will appointed Guardian for Joseph Gilless Pogue Freeman minor son of said Christopher C. Freeman and executed the necessary Bond all of which is hereby done accordingly.
