In the name of God Amen. I Samuel Stansbury being advanced in years and in very bad health at this time but possessing My usual Mind and memory do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form as follows. Viz:
1st. I will and bequeath to my daughter Jane Elam fifty acres of land Known as the (Rollings crossed out) Carter place.
2nd ( 3 written over the number 2). I give to my daughter Serilda Stansbury the tract of land Known as the Nix place, including all the land belonging to the same down to the Levi Fugate place.
2nd. I give to my daughter Martha Runnion?( or Rumion?) the tract of land known as the Rollings place.
4th. I give to my son Samuel Stansbury the tract of land where he first settled near the mill including all the land belonging to the said tract on the North side of Laurel River.
5th. I give to my son William Stansbury the tract of land known as the mill tract on the south side of Laurel River including the Mill thereon and all the appertenances thereunto belonging.
6th. I give to my three grand children John Stansbury, Morrison? Stansbury and Jarvis Stansbury, a certain bounding of unimproved land lying on the ridge and South west of and adjoining the Soloman tract of land.
7th. I give to my wife Sarah Stansbury the home tract of lands during her natural life for her exclusive use and benefit after her death I will and bequeath the said home tract of lands to my son William Stansbury whom I wish and desire to take charge of his mother's affairs and attend to & take care of her during her natural life.
8th. I give to my daughter Surilda Crawford one hundred and twenty six acres of land lying on Laurel River below Pam? Elams(?).
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 12th day of December 1854.

An instrument of writing purporting to be the last will
and testament of Samuel Stansbury deceased was this day produced and proven by
the oath of Charles B. Faris subscribing witness thereto and the same is ordered
to be entered of record. All of which is done accordingly.
