Whereas I, John C. Caldwell being in feeble health but of sane mind do make this my last will hereby revoking all wills heretofore made by me, John C. Caldwell
1st, It is my will and desire that my funeral expences and all my just debts be paid
2nd, I give and bequeath all my estate real, personal and mixed of all description whatsoever to my beloved wife Jemima Caldwell, forever to hold and to dispose as she chooses by will, deed, or otherwise, free from the claim of anyone.
3rd, It is my desire and I hereby appoint
my beloved wife Jemima Caldwell my sole Exectrix and that she be permitted
to take out litters testamentry without giving bond and security as required
by law, as my said Executrix this given my hand this the 18th day of Febuary
1862

A writing purporting to be the last will and
testament of, J.C. Caldwell dec'd, was produced in Court and proved by
