I, Frances Jones, being of sound mind and disposing memory, but near the gates of death and fast (decaying?) , see fit to make dispostion of my property and affects to wit ;I desire that my son John E. Jones, keep and retain the home that he now has, and that he have one bed and bedding.
I desire that after my funeral expences are paid that the residue of my property to be sold and equally divided among all my children.
I desire that R.S. Ewell carry out for me this Will and Settle my affairs after my decease.
I now invoke God's blessings upon my soul, which I commit to his care. November 18th, 1877

Court January term 1878A paper purporting to be the last will and testament of Frances Jones, Dec'd was produced into Court by, R.S. Ewell and -----? by said Ewell, S.C. Brown, and W. Miller subscribing witness to be the act and deed of the said Testator and that she was compentant at the time to make a will. Therefore said will and codicile are ordered to be included of record
