POND SCHOOL

RECORD BOOK OF THE TEACHER AND SUBDISTRICT TRUSTEE for School Year
Ending June 30, 1911, County of Lincoln, State of Kentucky, Educational Division No 3, Subdistrict No. 5.

Greetings: While attending a family reunion this past weekend, I was asked to temporarily become the custodian of an old document.  This document is for the Pond School and was kept by the Trustee of the District, which, in this case, was varied, However, the document was found among the effects of the family of the late Mollie Estes family. 

I have seen these types of documents at the Department of Libraries and Archives among the Education Archives  Some Trustees turned these documents into the local Board of Education and some did not. Some Boards of Education sent the information to the State Department of Education and some did not. So it is not totally unusual to find one of these Record Books among the papers of a deceased trustee, especially if he (or she) lived some distance from the local county seat.
