Blackerby, Barlow, Baker Family Bible
(Undated Newspaper clippings glued
to back cover)
George
Blackerby, an old and much esteemed citizen, died at his residence, near
Stanford, on Tuesday, with pneumonia. His remains were interred in the Buffalo
Spring Cemetery, and followed thither by a large number of his Granger friends, of which organization,
he was an honored member. He was in Dix river seining on Saturday last, and did not exercise that
care which he should have done. Thus it is "that in the midst of life we are in death."
Mrs. George Blackerby, the aged mother of Mr. Thomas W. Blackerby, died yesterday of
paralysis. She was highly esteemed by all who knew her.
The dates I have for George Blackerby b.18 Mar 1808 d.18 June 1875. Mrs. George Blackerby (Martha Colvin) b.abt 1809. Daughter Nancy Elizabeth Blackerby m. James M. Barlow 10 May 1855, from Garrard County. There were a total of nine children.
