From: "mcr1950" Date: Saturday, July 24, 2004 12:36 PM Hi all, Thank you so much for the offer of help cause I certainly do need it. My very Brick Wall (he's in the witness protection plan) Is John Cox, born about ca 1781, KY. Served with Col. John Spratt in War of 1812. Married Susanna Greenwood Flint (her first marriage to Richard Flint) October 1823. By his pension records John Cox would have been in his early 40's at the time of his marriage. I think he probably had a first marriage, have found no information on that prospect. Susanna, daugher of Bartlee and Nancy Sublet Greenwood. John's father said to be James in other researcher's work; no documentation. John and Susanna Cox moved to Orange County, IN, where their first child, James Monroe was born in 1824. They were marching with connected families of Bosley, Childress, and other Greenwoods I know of for sure, maybe others. Where would be a good place to start for info on John Cox? I can follow him from Orange county, IN to his death in Mercer county, MO in 1859. Would be willing to post found info to Lincoln county site, when found. Hoping to find other family connections. Hope to be in Lincoln county in August 2004. Thank you so very very much margaret cox russell nickerson, ks ggg granddaugher of John and Susannah Greenwood Cox Thank you so much.
