From: "Katherine" Date: Monday, February 28, 2005 2:40 PM Hello, I'm a Short researcher. We have a Henrietta Jackson 1 April 1800 marriage to Joshua Short in Garrard Co., KY. We are looking for the Jackson parents of the bride. Garrard was formed from Madison. Madison was formed from Lincoln. The bride was of age and the grooms father was bondsman so no family of the bride is mentioned on the bond. Henrietta is reputed by family history to be a fist cousin of President Andrew Jackson. Neither he nor his two brothers had issue. This leaves his Jackson uncles which is another quandary as researchers do not agree on the number nor the names. Trying to solve the mystery of her relationship to President Jackson it is my thought that the bride's father may have been in Lincoln Co when he married before 1875 for the bride to be of age in 1800. I have asked a Lincoln Co lookup volunteer for a marriage record limited to two names. I asked for Joshua and Samuel two names I thought likely as they appear in the Garrard 1810 census. I noticed in the index of wills a will for Joseph Jackson and saw no lookup volunteers for wills. How would I go about getting a copy or extract of the will for Joseph Jackson Bk B, Pg 188, 10 Oct 1797. Thank you, Katherine L. Short Breckenridge, TX
