From: Date: Monday, June 19, 2006 11:01 PM My name is A.j. Miller, and I think I may have a Lincoln County question.         My great-grandfather was one William Kidd, born 1869 Kentucky. He was married to Martha Brock of Bell County, KY about 1888. I believe he is the son of Joseph Green Kidd, son of Bryant Kidd.          Looking at Lincoln county census 1880, John F. Kidd, William D. Kidd, Robert A. Kidd and James B.(bryant?) Kidd are present. They are absent in 1900.          1900 Census Bell county, John Kidd, William Kidd, Robert Kidd, and Bryant Kidd all present (ages within 1 to 2 years of Lincoln). Not present Bell county 1880.          Wondering if you have any information that might confirm that Joseph Green Kidd's sons moved to Bell County sometime before 1900.          My grandmother (Birdie Miller, aka Virdie Kidd) was orphaned from the family sometime around 1920. She did not want to know her family. Since her death, I have reconstructed the info, and even met other Kidds, including her last surviving, 90 year old sister who was also orphaned.          Noone has had much info about William, other than stories their grandparents told them. All agree that he was a widower injured in a mining accident, and that the state took the last four (of 12 total) children. He died sometime before 1930, but do not know where or when. Two children returned to family, Grandma ran away from orphanage (Kentucky Children's Home Society (???)), youngest child adopted. Most of this listed on sekybrocks.com Appreciate anything you might know.          Thanks, and best of luck in your own search          A.j. Miller
