From: Date: Monday, August 29, 2005 9:03 PM My great X 2 grandparents (Martin) are listed in the 1860 Lincoln County Census for Crab Orchard district, living in household #521. The listing shows the Martin family as: Pleasant, age 50, born VA; Elizabeth, age 45, born NC; Prescilla age 24, born NC; George W, age 21 born KY; Jeremiah, age 17, born KY and Soloman, age 14, born KY. This Martin family was listed in 1850 Rockcastle County census. They appear to have arrived in KY shortly after the birth of Prescilla, or about 1836. The 1850 census lists additional children: Andrew age 18; Sarah age 11; and John age 8, and Jeremiah age 73 that I believe to be Pleasant’s father. George W (my great grandfather) married Elizabeth Bowman Butcher (g g/m) Sep 1860 in Rockcastle County and resided in Lincoln County for the 1870 and 1880 census; and in Garrard County for the 1900 census. Andrew is shown in Lincoln County in the 1860 census and in the 1880 Garrard County census with wife Eliza A Unknown. All of the other Martin family members seem to have disappeared, that includes Pleasant, wife Elizabeth, Prescilla, Sarah, John, Jeremiah, and Soloman. I assume the older Jeremiah died between the 1850 and 1860 census. . Appreciate any help or information for my missing Martin ancestors. Gene Martin, Phoenix, AZ
