I am researching my great-grandfather, who was taken prisoner by Union troops at Stanford, Ky on 
Aug. 1, 1863 or within a few days prior.  I am planning to visit Stanford in mid Oct. and am 
wondering if there is any local information about the skirmishes that occurred on those days. I 
have been through a number of the web pages, regimental histories and the Official Records. I am 
asking if you could advise me as if there is some local history of the event and where I might 
possibly find it in the Stanford area.  Thank you for your help.
