Saturday, March 05, 2011 1:37 PM Could you update my brick wall posting on the Lincoln County, KY gen web site? My dad and I found the burial site of Thomas and Rhoda about 4 years ago, they are buried in the White Family Cemetery on their old home place just north of Crab Orchard. The cemetery was unknown until I found it mentioned in a deed exempting it from the sale of their farm. Thanks Terry Linde Grace White If memory serves me correctly, Gene Martin found them in the Newland Family Cemetery where my greatgrandfather, W.T.B. White is also buried. We usually get confused by this because we want to believe that Thomas and Rhoda are the parents of W.T.B. White, but that isn't possible since they are all born within about 2 years of each other. I have no proof, but I am guessing that Thomas was some relative of W.T.B., possibly a cousin. Why they are buried in the Newland Cemetery is a mystery to me unless they were related to W.T. B. White fairly closely. That brick wall is so old that either the problem is solved or the questioner has moved on. I would like to know who W.T.B. White's parents are. On a census, he is living in Garrard County and says he was born in Kentucky. His parents may have been born in Virginia. I think he might have been born in Garrard County, but would like confirmation of that. He was a popular Baptist preacher if the Interior Journal is to be believed--and why wouldn't it? From: Date: Wednesday, September 13, 2006 12:21 AM Thomas and Rhoda White I'm trying to find the cemetery where Thomas and Rhoda Lane White are buried. Rhoda was born around 1830, died between 1870 and 1876. Thomas was born in 1828, died in the very early 1900's, before 1904. They lived in the Crab Orchard Preachersville area, I would assume they are buried somewhere in that area. Their son William is buried at Goshen, daughter Sally is buried at Preachersville. Thomas married Sarah Owens after Rhoda's death.
