She said that Catherine was dating  Lewis Mason and he decided that he wanted to date  Her sister Cecellia instead and married her .Mom said there was a  lot  of bad  feelings between  them.I do not think that Lewis would have dated his own Daughter.

Rama Dye son of Fauntleroy Dye and Elizabeth Young was hanged in Cooke Co., Texas.  Charge was treason. He was a member of a group called The Peace Party. 29 men were hanged with him that day.  One was his father in law; another was his cousin, Avery Dye.

Thomas Rutherford was on his way into Ky.from Va.With his wife Mary Ekizabeth Woodley or Woodsey  and Baby ,their daughter Mary,and three sons .They stopped to rest and Mary and the boyes went to pick berries.Indians attacked  and killed Thomas ,his wife and baby.Mary saw what had happened  and she and the boys hid .When she thought it was safe to leave They walked through woods full of Indians until they reached a small settlement now called Crab Orchard.Someone took them to John Rutherford .Near what is now Stanford .The boys went back to Va.to live with Elliott Rutherford and his Family.Later one of these boys settled in Pike Co.Ky.Someof his family married into The Hatfield and McCoy Families.
Mary stayed in Ky.with John Rutherford and his Family. On the same day That Susanna Married Ebenezer ,Mary Married  Spencer Hill and went  back to Va.to live.
 
On the marriage records it says James Rutherford  married Polly Huntsman
He married Mary Ann Huntsman  Daughter of Joshua Huntsman and Jane McKinney

John and Violetta Rutherford and Archibald and Elizabeth Akers Rutherford and their families may have been the first Rutherfords in Ky.  Before 1783 they were living on Green River a place Called The Rutherfords Cabins.  This was on a deed of John Logans.  In the first Deed Book John is listed as owning land on Dix River.
Joseph Rutherford and Baker Walls are also in this book.  Arichbald and Elizabeth Rutherford settled in Logan Co. Ky.
