Know all men by these presents that we Reuben Dunbar & William Mason Junior are held and firmly bound unto James Gerrard Esquire Govenor of Kentucky in the sum of Fifty Pounds Current Money to the payment whereof to be made to the said Govenor and his succefsors we bind ourselves our Heirs Executors We firmly by these present Sealed with our Seals and dated the 3rd day of October 1796.

The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas there is a Marriage shortly intended to be Soilemnized between the above bound Reuben Dunbar and Lettice Mason for which a _______* has _________**. Now if there is no soundful cause to obstruc said marriage, then this obligation to be void else to remain in full force
