Heath Denny. She was a housewife and mother and a member of Sweet Gum Church of
God.
She
is survived by five daughters, Lou Ellen Byrd, Ethel Jean Adams, and Kathy
Denson, all of Stanford, Rozella Stevens of Eubank and Thelma Bullock of
Waynesburg;
five brothers; William D. Denny, Freeman Walt Denny, Fred Denny,
Melvin Denny and Leroy Leach, all of New Castle, Ind.; 24 grandchildren and 8
great grandchildren.

was an employee of the State Road Department, a veteran and Member of the John
Logan VFW Post.

Services
for William Gilbert Rowe, 73, of Rt. 1, Stanford, were held on Wednesday at
Morgan and Fox Funeral Home. Virgil Horseman officiated and burial was in Buffalo
Springs Cemetery.
Mr.
Rowe, who was reported missing from his home for about an hour and a half Monday
morning, was found dead around 7:30 a.m. by a son in a stock pond on his farm.
According
to Lincoln County Coroner Clarence R. Barnett, Mr. Rowe was apparently walking
over his farm at sunrise, suffered a heart attack and fell into
the pond from a
high bank. His body was recovered about five feet from the shore line. The
Stanford Rescue Squad assisted. Mr. Rowe had been planning to enter a hospital
Monday for tests.
A
retired farmer, he was born in Rockcastle County and belonged to Stanford Church
of Christ.
Survivors
include his wife, Mrs. Mattie Renner Rowe; four daughters, Mrs. Hazel Lucas of
Perryville, Mrs. Ella Kersey of Rt. 1, Stanford, Mrs. Dessie Carrier of Rt. 3,
Stanford, and Mrs. Lois Preston of Danville; three sons, Henry of Rt. 3,
Stanford, Walker of Prestonburg and Floyd Rowe of Rt. 1, Waynesburg; two
brothers,
Delbert of Mt. Vernon and Walter Rowe of Woodstock, 15 grandchildren
and four great grandchildren.
