James David Boyd, 52 of
Florida (resides in Hustonville, KY during summer months) died on Monday, April
14, 2014. Born October 3, 1961, he was the son of Sandra S. Scruggs of S.C and
the late
Ralph Edward Boyd. He was a US Air Force veteran and served as a Firefighter for
NASA.
Survivors include his wife,
Cynthia Watson Boyd; two daughters, Stephanie Boyd of TX and Lauren Boyd of FL;
grandson, Christian David Boyd; brother,
Brent (Curry) Boyd and niece, Bentley Boyd, of S.C.
Services will be at 2 pm,

BRUNS, Sally Ann age 74, of Miamisburg,
OH passed away Friday January 17, 2014. She is preceded in death by her parents
and brother. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Terry Bruns; children,
Kathy (Doug) Leis and Jeff (Terri) Bruns; and grandchildren, Kyle, Drew, Jace,
and Tate. Sally was born in Stanford, KY and moved to Dayton during her teenage
years.
She graduated in 1957 from Roosevelt
High School. She began her career as a medical transcriptionist and she worked
at various medical offices. She was also a preschool teacher and stay at home
mom to raise her family. Sally then returned to work at Industrial Medical
Center as the office manager for 20 years prior to retirement. She enjoyed
spending time attending her grandkids activities and sporting events. She was a
member of St. James United Methodist Church of Miamisburg, Teddy Bear Lunch
Bunch, Water Aerobics Group, and participated in various other activities.
We would like to say a special thank
you to our lifelong friends, classmates, and neighbors. Visitation is Thursday
January 23, 2014 from 5:30pm to 7pm with memorial service starting at 7pm at the

Lillian M. Bryan, 94, of Lexington, KY
passed away Friday, April 25, 2014.
Lillian was born August 29, 1919 in
Hibbing, MN. She was the third of six born to the late Albert and Eva Liguia.
The family was from the Negaunee, Upper Peninsula Michigan area.
Lillian loved many things in life. She
was trained in the profession of nursing. She graduated with her L.P. from the
College of St. Scholastica with St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth, Minnesota during
World War II in a scholarship program called "Cadet Nurse Corp". She
served as an LPN in Minnesota, Nebraska, and Kentucky. In retirement years Mom
enjoyed traveling with Shockey Tours and volunteering. She volunteered at St.
Joseph Hospital in Lexington for 25 years. Mom was affectionately known as
"Miss Lil" there. "Aunt Lillian" also baked wonderful
cookies and desserts; they were enjoyed by all who had them. Her baked goods
were a welcome sight at many family gatherings and never lasted long. In March
2006, Mom received Jesus Christ into her heart; she is home now.
Surviving are a son: William Wayne
Bryan of Wilmore, KY, a grandson: Robert Bryan (Kendra) of Wilmore, KY, and a
daughter: Mary F. Bryan of Lexington, KY. Also, surviving are a sister-in-law:
Bettie M. Pence of Stanford, KY. A host of nephews and nieces and cousins
survive her in several states. She is preceded in death by her siblings and
husband William B. Bryan, Jr., and daughter-in-law Diane C. Bryan.
Visitation will be from 1-4pm Sunday,
April 27, 2014 at Spurlin Funeral Home, Stanford with private family graveside
services the following day at Buffalo Springs Cemetery Shelter in
Stanford, KY. She will be laid to rest beside her husband. Pastor Steve Pearson
will officiate. Honorary pallbearers will be Alfred H. Pence, Jr., William E.
Pence, and Dr. Samuel Matheny.

Maxine Faye Bryant, 81, of
Hubble Road in Stanford, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Ephraim
McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. Born Tuesday, November 24, 1931 in
New Salem, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Esto Estes & Ada Sims
Estes Wilcher. She was the widow of Sammy Bryant. Maxine retired as a Time Clerk
for the Sahara Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada and attended South Fork Baptist
Church.
Maxine leaves behind three
sons, Jackie Ray of Stanford, James Ray (Connie) of Waynesburg, and Ed Ray
(partner-Roy Lamey) of Las Vegas, Nevada; one brother, Johnny Wilcher (Elaine)
of Danville; four sisters, Matrie Lucas of Waynesburg, Alma Wilcher Littrell
(Gary) of Kings Mountain, Suzie McMahan of Waynesburg, and Janie Banks of
Lancaster; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her
husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Jerry Ray; and two
brothers, Junior Estes and Robert Wilcher.
Honoring Maxine’s wishes,
cremation rites have been honored. A private Memorial Service will be held
Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Danville Memorial Gardens. Burial will follow the
service. Fox Funeral Home, Stanford, is in charge of arrangements.

KY died Saturday, May 17, 2014, at UK Chandler Hospital in Lexington, KY. He was
born February 18, 1978 in Liberty, KY to William Boyd Coleman and Norma Rogers
Coleman. He graduated from Lincoln County High School in 1997, he was a farmer
and was of Pentecostal Faith. Otis's favorite things to do were working on the
farm with his brother Boyd and rabbit hunting.

Paul Ray Combs, 59, of
Berea, KY, and formerly of Dayton & Columbus OH, passed away on Wednesday,
April 9, 2014 at Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, KY. He was born
Saturday, August 7, 1954 in Detroit, MI to the late Thornton and Fannie Kelley
Combs. He married Anita Gitzinger Combs on October 28, 1994. Paul
worked as a computer specialist for the federal government before retiring from
there. He was a US Navy Veteran, serving during the Vietnam Era.
Paul was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Richmond, KY. In his spare time, he
enjoyed woodworking and working in his yard.
Along with his wife, he is
survived by one son, Erik (Jodi) Zambell of Long Island, NY; five daughters, Kim
Zambell of Sanford, FL, Robin Cooper of Virginia Beach, VA, Keri (Charles)

at his residence.
He was born on January 8, 1953 in
Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of the late Dayton and Margaret (Leach) Cornett.
On November 16, 1974 he married Karen
Saunders who survives along with three children, Angela Kay Van Horn, Dayton
Michael Cornett and Jennifer Renae Russell all of Sidney, 11 grandchildren,
Brittany VanHorn, Dylan VanHorn, Nathan VanHorn, Darrian Cornett, Jacob Cornett,
Tessa Cornett, Tanner Cornett, Jason Slaybaugh II, Aaron Slaybaugh, Raelyn
Russell, Jesse Russell Jr., 3 great grandchildren, Maleki Kelly, Davaughn Thomas
and Brielle Hensley. Four brothers, Carl Cornett and wife Juanita, Eugene
Cornett and wife Mary, Bobby Cornett and wife Imogene, Eddie Cornett and wife
Geneva and one sister, Lillian Cornett.
Mr.Cornett was employed at the former
Hydro Aluminum Co. Michael enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and
loved playing his guitar and listing to music. He was a great father and was
loved by many.

April 18, 2014 at 1 P.M.at the Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY with Rev.

Gracie Foley Crawley passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014 in Lexington, KY. He
was born in Indianapolis, IN on June 20, 1953 to the late Albert and Flossie
Lynn Crawley. He was a roofer and raised in the Pentecostal faith. He was a
loving father, brother, and uncle. He was always ready to help anyone in need.
He is preceded in death by sisters,
Norma Crawley and Wand McPhearson.
He is survived by sisters: Juanita
Patton, and Wilma Foley, half-sisters: Mary, Easter, and Katie Crawley. He is
also survived by his sons: Albert Edward Crawley Jr. (Stephanie) and Kevin

(Murrell) Doyle age 75, of Princeton, IN, passed away on Saturday, April12, 2014
at the Transcendent Healthcare Facility located in Owensville, IN. She was born
March 15, 1939, in Crab Orchard, KY to Felix and Martha (Neal) Murrell, both
having preceded her in death.
She
was an area resident since 1958 moving here from her hometown of Crab Orchard,
KY. She worked at the Princeton Water Dept. before becoming a Title 1 Aide for
both the North Gibson School Corporation and also for St. Joseph elementary
schools. After retiring as an aid she worked at the former Kmart and then most
recently the Wal-Mart jewelry dept. in Princeton, IN.
She
was a member of the Oakland City Church of the Nazarene and was until her recent
illness a Sunday school teacher at her church.
She
is survived by one son, Barrett W. (Jan) Doyle of Princeton, IN, and one
daughter, Vanessa (Steve) Kohlmeier of Oakland City, IN.
She
is also survived by sisters; Della Meeks of Princeton, IN and Hilda (Bill) Kidd
of Shelbyville, KY.
Survivors
also include 11 grandchildren; Samantha (Levi) Jordan of Owensville, Haley &
Heath Kohlmeier of Oakland City, Kaytlyn (Travis) Gray of Oakland City, IN and
Christian, Corban, Kanaan, Colson, Karmyn, Caedmon and Seth Doyle all of
Princeton. 2 great grandchildren; Michael Jefferey and Jasmine Serenity Gray of

Tony
George Ely, born May 17, 1939 went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April
26, 2014 at 7:45am at his home. He was 74 and lived in Stanford, KY. Tony worked
for Kirby and Electrolux Corporation and retired after 25 years with Electrolux.
In 1985, he and his wife opened up Vacuum's Unlimited (The Sweeper Shop). Tony
attended Danville Church of God.
Tony enjoyed selling vacuum cleaners,
spending time with his wife and children, fishing, and listening to Gospel
music. He also loved classic cars. While working for Electrolux, he earned many
awards.
He is survived by his loving wife, Flo
Ely, four children: Audrey Gayle Young (Ricky), Robby Ely, Tony Caudill (Donna),
and Tonya Watts (David). Eight grandchildren: Kyle Young (Lori), Bradley Brown,
Kelli Simpson (Matt), Curtis Brown (Leslie), Jessica Watts, Chris Gilmore, Jacob
Caudill, and Joshua Caudill. Seven great-grandchildren: Joshua Brown, Kaden
Young, Porter Simpson, Bentley Grace-Ann Brown, Collin Brown, Khloe Brown, and
Kennedy Simpson. Tony has two brothers and two sisters and several nieces and
nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, April 28,
2014 from 5-9pm. Funeral service will be Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at 3pm with

Randolph. She was a member of Slate Hill United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death
by her first husband, Eddie Lee Snow; second husband, Arnold Emerson; daughters,
Alberta Lee Snow and Elizabeth Kuske; son, Gilbert Snow; brothers, Earl Randolph
and George Rogers and sister, Easter Rogers. She is survived by two sons,
Carlisle Snow and Jimmy Snow; two daughters, Jeanette Davis and Pat Brown; three
sisters: Frances Jeffries, Nancy Lennington and Emma Lou Asberry; two brothers,

Cincinnati, OH to late Fred C. & Jewel Yocum Fields. He married Odena
Fields on May, 4, 2012. Kenneth worked as a Lineman at I.B.E.W. and
attended South Fork Baptist Church. In his spare time, he loved fishing,
hunting, and camping.
Along with his wife, he is
survived by three daughters, Hope, Tiffany and Claressa Fields all of
Warfordsburg, PA; one brother, Bruce (Kathy) Fields of Waynesburg; two sisters,
Rhonda Cheney of Debary FL, and Jackie (Glenn) Adington of Waynesburg; and
two grandchildren, Myles and Connor Fields.

KY passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at home. He was born August 5, 1917 in
Chicago, IL to the late Frederick and Veronica Gosparlin. He was a veteran of
the U.S. Navy and worked for Wells Manufacturing Company for 37 years. He was a
member of the Catholic Faith.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years:
Gwendolyn Gosparlin of Stanford, KY, one daughter: Patricia Buchwald (Robert) of
Stanford, KY, two grandsons: Mark Hipps (Angela) and Jason Hipps, one
granddaughter: Alacyn Buchwald, two great-grandchildren: Tiffany and Natalie
Hipps all of Stanford, KY, and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in
death by two sisters: Lillian Ickes and Sylvia Stadnick.

Guinn, 83 of Junction City passed away at St. Joseph Hospital in the comfort of
her family on Tuesday, April 29, 2014. Born August 21, 1930, she was the
daughter of the late Jack and Myrtle Peyton Miller. She was retired from
Shakertown after 19 years and was also a Farmer’s National Bank employee. She
loved animals, flowers and birds.
She
was preceded in death by a son, Ray Green; a daughter, Patricia Guinn and
sister, Katherine Evans.
She
is survived by a daughter and son-in law, Sharon (formerly Magnatta) and Al
Carpenter of Waynesburg; two sons, Carl Guinn of Junction City and Billy Guinn
of Texas; three grandchildren: Judy Kinley, Ramona Guinn and Carla Devine; and
two great grandchildren.

Lou had worked for Bowling
Moorman Publications as an executive secretary for 26 years before retiring. She
volunteered her time to The Clothesline, Needy Basket and FISH and was a member
of the Tipp City Senior Citizens. She was an avid and competitive bridge and
euchre player and competed in horseshoes. Graveside services will take place at
1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Maple Hill Cemetery. A gathering of
family and friends will be held following the service at the Tipp City Senior
Citizens Center, S. First Street.

a World War II Army veteran and also served in the Marine Corps.

Bronston, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Lake Cumberland Regional
Medical Center in Somerset. Born Sunday, July 6, 1947 in McKinney, he was
the son of the late Frank C. & Pauline Sims Moore. He was the widower
of the late Karen K. Eldridge Moore, who preceded him in death April 1, 2004.
Terry was a US Army Veteran, who served during the Vietnam Era. Throughout
his working career, he owned Terry’s Body Shop and also owned a restaurant.
In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles, and building things.
Terry leaves behind his
partner, Donna Cook of Bronston; two sons, Greg Moore (Theresa Kibby) and Tyler
Moore both of Somerset; one grandson, Strahd Moore-currently serving in US Navy;
one sister-in-law, Carole Moore of Kings Mountain; and two nieces, Gina Douglas
and Jerri Lynn Moore.

United States Army having served in WWII. He worked as a farmer for most of his

and was a former member of Willow Grove Baptist Church.

son of Wauneda Estes Pittman of Middleburg and the late Walter Pittman. He was a

He is survived by his wife
of 30 years, Brenda Privette Pittman; son, Billy (Bertheda) Berry of

Ray Rogers, 55, of Stanford, Ky., died Friday, April 11, 2014.
Born
Aug. 4, 1958, at Stanford, Ky., he was the son of the late Richard Rogers and
Anna Lowe Barnett.
He
served his country in the Navy and worked for RR Donnelley & Sons as a
Bindry Operator for 25 years. Jimmy loved his family and friends. He coached
Little League and also did fund raisers for Little League. Jimmy was a member of
the American Legion Post 345. He also enjoyed motorcycles, racing and any sport.
Jimmy was a devoted grandfather.
Jimmy
is survived by his wife, Linda Dowell Rogers; children, Jarid Thomas (Shona)
Rogers of Stanford, Ky., Sarah Ann (Clifford) Coleman of Maryland, and Brandi
Nicole (Dusty Herring) Rogers of Stanford, Ky.; siblings, Steven Pride of West
Hollywood, Calif., Sue Ann (Ernie) Ellis of Hillsboro, Betty Joe (Scotty) Vest,
of Danville, Ky., and Jessica (Brian) Horton of Clay City, Ky.; grandchildren,
Madeleine Lorene Coleman, Jillian Grace Coleman, Riley James Herring, Dustin

April 20, 2014, at his residence.
Mr.
Siler was born on March 28, 1962, in Lincoln County, Kentucky, the son of John
E. Siler Jr. and Lydia Denney. He married Jodie Baker March 4, 1988, in
Columbus, Indiana. She survives.
Mr.
Siler worked as an inspector-grinder operator for AISIN U.S.A. in Seymour,
Indiana, for eleven years. He had previously worked as an inspector for Golden
Casting in Columbus, Indiana, from 1987 to 2004. He enjoyed fishing, camping,
boating and spending time with his grandson.
He
is survived by his wife, Jodie Siler of North Vernon, Indiana; two
daughters, Jessica Bradley of Madison, Indiana, and Angel Siler of North Vernon,
Indiana; his parents, Lydia and John Siler Jr. of Columbus, Indiana; two
sisters, Pamela Andrew of Columbus, Indiana, and Lisa (Cliff) Stults of
Franklin, Indiana; and his grandson, Kyle Siler of North Vernon, Indiana.
A
funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 24, 2014, at

Carol Wray Buchanan of Moreland and the late Newland Wayne Sims. His
loving wife is Winona Jean Owen Sims, whom he married October 14, 2000.
Brandon worked as a truck driver and loved to fish and play Xbox, in his spare
time.
In addition to his wife,
Brandon leaves behind two sons, Brandon Edward’Wayne Sims and Brayden Wayne
Sims both of Waynesburg; his mother and father-in-law, Jack and Kathy Owens of

Vernon, KY, Cindy Stagner (Victor) of Waynesburg, KY, Beverly Holt (Johnny) of
Eubank, KY and Stacy Creech (Michael) of Crab Orchard, KY; a brother, Alford
Stevens of Preachersville, KY; three sisters, Cora Ellen Johnson of Crab
Orchard, KY, Easter Hale of Preachersville, KY and Jenny Burchett of Casey
County, KY; 43 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; several nieces and
nephews; she was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Archie Stevens.
Visitation will be Monday, May 12,
2014, from 5-9 pm at Faith Temple Church in Jesus Name, funeral services will be
Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at 2 pm at the church. Brother Roger Stevens will be
officiating the service. Burial will be in Dix River Church of Christ
Cemetery,
