Earl R. Benton, age 87, of KY
Hwy 1247 in Waynesburg, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2014 at Ephraim
McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. Born Thursday, January
6, 1927 in Caney (Morgan County), Kentucky, he was the son of the late Carl
& Myrtle Gibson Benton. His loving wife is Rebexie Caudill Benton of
Waynesburg, whom he married January 29, 1949. Earl worked as a school
teacher for Lincoln County for 30 years in the Waynesburg community.
He was a member of the Waynesburg 328 F&AM, a US Army Veteran, and loved to
pass time at the Waynesburg Rescue Squad where he was known for being a good
Rook player. His main hobby was farming and he was of the Old Regular
Baptist faith.
In addition to his wife, Earl
leaves behind three children, Teresa Sharon Bingham (Jim) of Indianapolis,
Indiana, Marvin Eugene Benton (Deloris) of Middletown, Ohio, and Kathryn
Brown (Lonnie) of Waynesburg; three sisters, Eva Lee Lykins of Northern
Kentucky, Rella Barrett (Don) of Indiana, and Sue Hosmer (Harley) of
Owensboro; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 12
great-grandchildren; and six step great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he
was preceded in death by one son, Jesse Clark Benton; four brothers,
Charles, Elwood, Lonnie Ray, and Ivan Benton; two infant brothers; and two
sisters, Oleta Sorrell and Levota Oligee.
A Funeral Service will be held
2:00PM Sunday, November 30, 2014 at Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home with Bro.
David Gambrel officiating the service. Burial will follow in
Leach Cemetery on Rocky Hollow Road in Waynesburg. Military honors
will be performed by the Caswell-Saufley Post #18 of the American Legion.
Tommy Engle, Bobby Benton, Brandon Sanders, Doug May, Norman Rutheford, and
Clinton Sims will serve as Active Pallbearers.
The Visitation will be held
5-9PM Saturday, November 29, 2014 at the funeral home. A Masonic
Service will begin at 8:00PM.

Jack was born in Lincoln County on May 25, 1932. He was the son of the late Melvin and Robeda (Ping) Blevins. He was a farmer.

Thelma L. Bryant, 92, passed away Monday, November 10,
2014 at Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford, KY. Born January 31, 1922 in
Stanford, KY to the late Jesse B. and
Minnie Sue Robinson Lawrence, she was
the widow of the late Charles William Bryant.
She was a graduate of Stanford High School and was a
business owner and farmer for most of her life. She was a member of D.A.R.,
Homemakers, a member of Farm Bureau,
and enjoyed working as a precinct
worker. She was also a member of Stanford Christian Church.
Survivors include one son: Larry Bryant, one daughter: Beverly Sue Ballow, one sister: Dorothy Lawrence Robbins, six grandchildren: Charles Ray Helm, Kimberly Miller both of Louisville, KY, Angelia Wix (David) of Lancaster, KY, JJ Bryant of Somerset, KY, and Larry and Lexi Bryant both of Lexington, KY, nine great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by one sister: Gladys Lawrence Childress.
Visitation will be held at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel; Stanford on Thursday, November 13, 2014 from 5-9pm.
Funeral service will be at the funeral home on Friday, November 14, 2014 at 11am with Reverend Mark Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford, KY.

King's Daughters' Hospital.
He was born on April 19, 1944 in Crab
Orchard, Ky. to the late Joe and Gertie Greer Buchanan. He was a retired
meat cutter, having worked with Thriftway in Jeffersonville for forty years.
Survivors include his wife, Mary C. Emmons Buchanan of Madison, Indiana; his
loving son, Jeff Buchanan and his wife, Tammy of New Albany, Indiana; his
loving daughter, Diana Buchanan of Louisville, Kentucky; his grandchildren,
Kendall and Taylor; his mother in law, Josephine Emmons of Madison, Indiana;
his step sons, Jason Thompson of New Albany, Indiana, Jesse Thompson of
Madison, Indiana, Jeremy Yocum of Palmyra, Indiana, Michael Yocum of
Palmyra, Indiana, Tony Emmons of New Albany, Indiana; his sister, Betty Ross
of Salem, Indiana; his brother, Joey Buchanan of Columbus, Indiana; his five
step grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Cordier Lane in Stanford, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2014 at her
residence. Born Saturday, May 29, 1937 in Kings Mountain, she was the
daughter of the late Fred & Mabel Southerland Davis. She was the widow
of the late Green Clay Clark, who preceded her in death April 1, 2001.
Irene worked as a seamstress at Cowdens Manufacturing, was a homemaker, and
was a member of Pentecostal Fellowship Church in Lancaster.
Irene leaves behind four
children, Irvin Clark (Beverly BeBe) of Tallahassee, Florida, Meta
Sinkhorn (Ricky) of Junction City, Huston Clark (Amy) of Stanford, and Roger
Clark of Stanford; four sisters, Edith Salyers of Casey County, Ann
Chambers, Sue Padgett, and Regina Lane all of Lancaster; one brother, Jackie
Davis of Somerset; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one
great-great grandchild.
In addition to her husband and
parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, William Roy Davis.

In addition to his father survivors include one brother: David Bruce Coppage Sr. (Connie Elizabeth) of Stanford, KY, four nieces: Stephanie Acree, Heather Parker, David Bruce Coppage, Jr., and Brandon Coppage, and four great nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister: Lisa Ann Robertson.

Kelly (Robert) Duncan, Dana (Jesse) Long , and Terri (James) Carmichael, all
of Junction City; one brother, Mitchell Shell of Russell Springs; 15

Born June 11, 1921 in Lincoln County to the late Les and Willhelender Brown Cottrell, she was the widow of the late Walter W. Denham. She was a homemaker for most of her life and babysat for numerous children for over 20 years. She was also a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons: Vernon L. Denham (Violet) of Louisville, KY, and Leslie T. Denham (Rosalyn) of Waynesburg, KY, two daughters: Joyce Davis (James E.), and Angela Denham both of Danville, KY, two daughter-in-laws: Linda Denham and Gayle Denham both of Stanford, KY, one sister: Ida B. Denham of Stanford, 17 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons: William E. Denham and Harold M. Denham, and one brother: James Cottrell.

She was the daughter of Beulah Mae
Nelson Dunn and the late Calvin Dunn.
She was a member of the First Baptist
Church and was a former church clerk.
Vickie accepted Christ at an early age
and worked in the church until her health began to fail. Even though she
never had children of her own, she always took an interest in others
children and loved to spoil them. Her favorite song was midnight cry.
She was preceded in death by her father
Calvin Dunn, maternal grandparents Arthur and Birdie Owsley Nelson, paternal
grandparents Charles and Sula Dunn.
Victoria leaves behind a family that
loved her dearly. Her loving and devoted mother Beulah Mae Dunn. Four Aunts
and Two Uncle and a hosts of relatives and friends and a special friend Judy
Whitaker.

Robert Lee Edwards, 67, of Stanford, KY
passed away Saturday, November 22nd, at Fort Logan Hospital. He was the
husband of Deborah Noble Edwards whom he married on May 6, 1978.
Robert was born in on October 23, 1947,
a son of the late Florence Ethel (Hicks) and Frank Edwards. He was a member
of the Watts Chapel Baptist Church where he has served as Pianist, Sunday
School Teacher as well as Vacation Bible School Teacher. Robert also served
on the Budget Committee for the Lincoln County Baptist Association. He was a
former Councilman for the City of Crab Orchard. He was the current
Chairperson of the Lincoln County Planning and Zoning Commission. Being a
graduate of Crab Orchard High School and Eastern Kentucky University, he
dedicated his entire thirty seven year career to the Kentucky Department of
Transportation where he worked as a review appraiser. As active as Robert
Lee was, his pride and joy was spending time with all of his family and
church family.

SSgt. Craig Evans, 58, passed
from this life Sunday, November 23, 2014. He graduated from Ohio
University in 1979 with a bachelors degree in business. Craig was
SSgt. In the United States Air Force for 17 ½ years, serving our country as
an Electronic Warfare Tech, Stateside as well as Seoul, South Korea, and
during Desert Storm in Saudi Arabia. Craigs unit was attacked and
bombed during the Khobar Towers attack. Craig was also an employee of
Corning Glass in Harrodsburg, KY, for 11 years, as a sheet glass operator.
Craig was preceded in death by
his parents, Captain Delmar H. Evans of Winston-Salem, North Carolina and
Francis Evans of McClain, Virginia.
Craig was a member of Crosswell
Baptist Church Sumter, South Carolina and attended Pilot Baptist Church in
Eubank. He was an avid reader of the Old Testament and enjoyed sharing
what he had learned with his family. Craig is survived by his wife, Sarah

Born June 23, 1925 in Paris, TN to the late Roy and Hattie Mae Wimberly Evans, he was the widower of the late Frances Ione Evans, and a retired employee of Lake Erie Screw, Inc.
Survivors include one daughter: Donna Millott of Palm Springs, FL, four grandchildren: Samantha Boswell (John) of Gainesville, FL, Jason Millott (Kate) of Rolling Oak, VA, Andrew Millott (Rebecca) of Ringold, GA, and Jessica McCarthy (Scott) of Cleveland, OH, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Ethel Gertrude Ledford Frith,
age 73 of Walnut Street, Crab Orchard, Kentucky, died Wednesday, July 16,
2003 at
her daughter's home in Stanford,
Kentucky.
She was the wife of Ray Frith,
whom she married December 29, 1951. She was born November 9, 1929 in Lincoln
County, Kentucky and was the daughter of the late Brack C. Ledford, Sr. and
Etta Irene Ballard Ledford. She previously attended the Dix River Church of
Christ.
Ethel was a former employee of
Palm Beach. Most of all, she was a loving Wife, Mother, Sister &Grandmother.
Survivors include: her husband of 51 years, Ray Frith, twin daughters, Regina Meece, Ramona (Doug) Snyder, four sons, Gary (Barbara) Ledford, Tommie (Tammy) Frith, Timmie (Martha) Frith, Jeffery (Missy) Frith. Two brothers; Brack Ledford, Jr, Donald Ledford. Eleven grandchildren & 2 step great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by, brother, Harold Ledford; half brother, Roy Ledford , half sister Alene Hendrickson & son-in-law Arthur Meece.

Lucille Elizabeth Griffin, 87, of Stanford, KY passed away Sunday, November 23, 2014 in Danville, KY. Born September 20, 1927 to the late Monte and Alley Wells Hale, she was the widow of the late Elmer Griffin and a member of Fairview Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons: Jim Rainwater (Mona) of Cleveland, OH, Kenneth Mathews (Edna) of Brandenburg, KY, and Elmer Ray Griffin (Tammy) of Stanford, KY, five daughters: Joan E. Harris (Cooper), Dorothy Revelle both of Stanford, KY, Kimberly Mattingly of Louisville, KY, Karen Lakes (Shelby) of Stanford, KY, and Sondra Jenson of Lancaster, KY, three sisters: Alberta Woods (Louis) of Stanford, KY, Janie Cook, and Virginia Furgeson, fifteen grandchildren, and twenty nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son: Harold Eugene Griffin, three brothers: James, Robert, and Eugene Hale, three sisters: Roberta Martin, Pat Hale, and Bertha Still.
A graveside service will be held at 2pm Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford, KY with Reverend Harold McClaren officiating. Casket bearers will be: James W. Clarence was born in Lexington on October 11, 1940. He was the son of the late Preston and Mayme Gertrude (Curtis) Griffith. He was a former employee of Central Rock Co.

Ben and Ollie Qualls Wyatt. She was a member of Harrodsburg United Methodist
Church and a Homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husbands: Billy
Russell and George Gourley; 1 son: Billy Gene Wyatt and 1 daughter: Stella
Ann Carr.

Clyde D. Hannah, age 82, of Elkins Rogers Road in Kings Mountain,
passed away Monday, October 6, 2014 at the Christian Care Center of
Lancaster. Born Monday, August 8, 1932 in Casey County, he was the son
of the late Roy Russell & Virgie Taylor Hannah. His loving wife was
Vivian Faye Williams Hannah, of Kings Mountain, whom he married December 17,
1953. Clyde was a farmer, US Navy Veteran, serving during the Korean
Conflict, and was a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church. In his
spare time, he enjoyed fishing and quilting.
In addition to his wife, Clyde leaves behind one son, Mark Hannah
(Janice) of Wilmore; one sister, Mary Helen Singleton of Kings Mountain;
three granddaughters, Heather Holder (Tom) of Lexington, Tiffany Vaughn
(Ethan) of Georgetown, and Krissie Butler (Mark) of Wilmore; and five
great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two
brothers, Ottis Clinton Hannah and William Ray Hannah; two infant brothers;
two sisters, Lucy McMullin and Charlotte McQueen; and one infant sister.
A Funeral Service will be held 11:00AM Thursday, October 9, 2014 at
Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home with Bro. Allen Roberts officiating the
service. Burial will follow in Double Springs Cemetery.

T.J. "Jeff" Hill, 55, of Stanford, KY died Thursday, November 20,
2014, at his home. He was born October 3, 1959 in Stanford, KY to Nancy Ann Miller Hill and the late T.J. Hill III. He was the widower of Cindy Snow Hill. T.J. was a lifelong member of the New Beginnings United Methodist Church as well as a current member of the church's board of trustees. He was a graduate of Lincoln County High School and Texas A&M University. At the time of his death, he was a Member of the Lincoln Masonic Lodge #60, member of the Lexington Consistory Scottish Rite, Chairman of the Lincoln County Democratic Party, chairman for the Stanford E.M.S. board of directors, treasurer and board member of the Foundation for the Historical McCormack Meeting House, Incorporated. T.J. was an army veteran; leaving the service with the rank of Captain. He was a member of the Caswell Saufley Post#18 American Legion, he was past Master of the Lincoln Masonic Lodge #60, past president of the Stanford Rotary and he was a former U.S. Deputy Marshall. On November 4, 2014, T.J. was elected Mayor of Stanford. He would have taken office on January 1, 2015. Survivors include his son, Thomas Hill V; his mother, Nancy Miller Hill; his sister Carol Hill, all of Stanford, KY; his mother-in-law, Deanie Snow of Kings Mountain, KY; a sister-in-law, Sandra Snow Kline (James) of Lancaster, KY; a maternal Uncle, Jim Ed Miller of Pecos, TX; a maternal Aunt, Carol Jean Kelley (Bill) of Dallas, TX; and numerous other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 25, 2014, from 4:30pm to 9pm and Wednesday, November 26, 2014, from 10am to time of funeral service of 1pm at the Stuart Underwood Auditorium, Lincoln County High School, 60 Education Way, Stanford, KY. A police honor guard will be present during visitation hours. Reverends David Gambrel, Jay Mumper and Jeff Bramel will be officiating the service. Masonic rites will be given at 8pm Tuesday during visitation hours. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery, Caswell Saufley Post #18 American Legion will present Military Honors at the cemetery.
