WAYNESBURG - Services for Norman Rick Beatty, 51, of South Fork Community, Hustonville, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Barnett and Demrow Funeral Home by Henderson Goins. Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery with military rites by Caswell Saufley American Legion Post 18.
He died Monday at home.
Born Dec. 30, 1945, in Pulaski County, he was a son of the late Jack and Lillian Cook. He was a construction worker and a member of New Salem Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Katherine Beatty; three daughters, Vanessa Coleman, Valinda Beatty and Vinita Kish, all of South Fork Community; a stepmother, Effie Beatty of Burnside; a brother, Jack Beatty of Hopkinsville; two sisters, Shirley Beatty of Burnside and Betty Walker of Stearns; and five grandchildren.

PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. — Jack Kenneth Bodner, 80, passed away Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010.

Born May 11, 1929, in Lincoln County, Ky., he was a son of the late Frederick and Mary Rice Bodner. He was a Navy veteran and retired vice president of Corning Glass International. He also was a huge UK Wildcat fan.

Survivors include his sons, Jack K. Bodner Jr. (Terri) of Atlanta, Ga., and Randall W. Bodner (Betsy) of Boston, Mass.; brother, Bobby Bodner of Lincoln County, Ky.; several nieces and nephews; loved ones form the Island Cafe

 and Deli; best friends, Russell Hardee and Patsy Hardee of Pawleys Island; and grandchildren, Jason, Amber, Justin, Kate, Allison and Mark.

CRAB ORCHARD -- Services for A.J. Bourne, 95, of Lancaster Street will be 2 p.m. today at McKnight Funeral Home by Norman Young. Burial will

be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.   

Pallbearers will be deacons of Crab Orchard Baptist Church: Danny Godbey, Billy Dyehouse, Dennis Clausen, Charlie Elam, Charlie Brummett and Jeff Albright. 

He died Friday at Fort Logan Hospital, Stanford.  Born Nov. 27, 1906, in Garrard County, he was a son of the late Kinnaird

and Katherine Walter Bourne. He was the widower of Carrie Wilson Bourne.  He was a retired farmer and a deacon of Crab Orchard Baptist Church. 

Survivors include two brothers, James Bourne of Lancaster and Hubert Bourne of Columbus, Ohio; a niece; and 11 nephews.

CRAB ORCHARD — Connie Jean Herrin Brumett, 60, of Mesa, Ariz., died Thursday at Chandler Regional Hospital in Chandler, Ariz. She was the wife of Billy Ray Brumett whom she married on Feb. 3, 1968.

Born June 27, 1949, in Jackson County, Mo., she was a daughter of Emogene Hall Herrin and the late James W. Herrin. She was a retired medical transcriptionist for St. Joseph Hospital in Kokomo, Ind., and a member of the Pentecostal church.

Survivors include her husband, Billy Ray Brumett; daughter, Angela Brumett of Mesa, Ariz.; mother, Emogene Hall Herrin of Greenfield, Ind.; and a brother, James (Tammy) Herrin of Greenfield.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at McKnight Funeral Home by Bro. Randall Adams. Burial will be in Brumett Family Cemetery on Bowling Ridge Road.

Pallbearers will be Cesar Rodriguiz, Kevin and Mark Hopkins, Joshua, Adam and Dustin Brummett and Joshua Brummett Jr.

STANFORD — Dewey “Gordon” Carter, 78, of Stanford died Monday, Feb. 8, 2010, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville

Born June 18, 1931, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Denver and Virginia Reed Carter. He was retired from General Motors in Dayton, Ohio, after 40 years of service, and a member of McKinney Christian Church.

Survivors include a very special friend, Ethel Louise Miracle; three children, Theresa Serio (Charles) of Austin, Texas, Barry Carter of West Alexandra, Ohio, and Becky Kay Carter of West Melton, Ohio; three sisters, Winford Ann Carpenter of Danville, Hilda Jane Whalen of Lexington, Ky., and Charlotte Faye Self of Stamping Ground, Ky.; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Mary Irene Conner Carter; four brothers, George D. Carter, Novis D. “Clondy” Carter, Huite L. Carter and Lowell M. Carter.

The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jason Coulter officiating. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery. Casket bearers will be grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Born May 10, 1953, in Hamilton, Ohio, he was a son of Cathleen Creech Hall of Berea and the late Floyd Clemmons. He was a truck driver.

Survivors include his wife, Diana Greer Clemmons of Waynesburg; stepsons, Shane and Jeremy McAninch; stepmother, Beverly Clemmons; brother, Daniel Clemmons; sisters, Robin Spaulding, Pam Cox, Beverly Clemmons, Patty Thacker and Sherrie Clemmons; and five grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons Everett Eugene Cowan of Lancaster, KY and Billy Mason Cowan of Lawrenceville, GA; a daughter Cora Christene McKinney of Lancaster, KY; a sister Christene Taylor both of Danville; 2 grandsons Charles Everett Cowan of Georgetown, KY and Robert Jacob Cowan of Lexington, KY, a granddaughter Terry Jean Mullins of Berea, KY, 3 great grandsons, 1 great granddaughter, 1 great-great granddaughter and 1 great-great grandson; She is preceded in death by 2 sons David Cowan and Paul Anderson Cowan and by a sister Lucy Walton.

CRAB ORCHARD — Liane Ledford Dear, 87, passed away Thursday, Dec. 24, at Danville Centre for Health and Rehabilitation.

She was born June 6, 1922, in Garrard County. She was the daughter of the late James P. Ledford Sr. and Winnie Baker Ledford. She was the widow of Joe Dear, whom she married on Dec. 1, 1945, in New Albany, Ind. They resided in the community of Ramsey, Ind., until moving to Crab Orchard in 1960.

She was a member of Watts Chapel Baptist Church, where she was a former church clerk, Sunday School teacher and a former member of the W.M.U. She was a former store clerk for Hammons IGA for more than 20 years.

Survivors include one daughter, Pat (Wayne) Saylor of Waynesburg; one son, Rick (Renita) Dear of Danville; one grandson, Drew Isaac Dear of Danville; and two brothers, Buddy (Sarah) Ledford of Danville and John Scott (Jo) Ledford of Frankfort.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Richard Ledford Sr.

Services are 3 p.m. today at McKnight Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Johnny Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Crab Orchard Cemetery. Visitation is 12-3 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Pallbearers include Richard “Dicky” Ledford Jr., David Ledford, Butch Ledford, Brian McMullin, Bill Knasel and Donnie Arnold. Honorary pallbearers include Mae Agee, David Perkins and Jeremy Harris.

Robert L. Dickhaus, 50, of Waynesburg, died Saturday, Dec. 26 at the Fort Logan Hospital.

A native of Batavia, Ohio, he was born Aug. 9, 1959, to Elmer L. and Gladys June Gastineau Dickhaus of Waynesburg. He was a mechanic and a musician.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Sandy Dickhaus.

Other survivors include his wife, Catherine Hall Dickhaus of Waynesburg; a son, Allen Dickhaus of Waynesburg; a daughter, Jenny Dickhaus, of Waynesburg; two brothers, Rick Dickhaus of Crittenden and Paul Dickhaus of Berea; three sisters, Diane Mounce of Eubank, Brenda Denny of Willisburg and Cynthia Black of Waynesburg; and two grandchildren, Jonathan and Mikaela.

Funeral services were Dec. 30 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home in Science Hill with Bro. Hillard Foster officiating. Burial was in Double Springs Cemetery.

David Earl Duff Sr., 65, of Greencastle, Ind., died Monday, Feb. 1 at the Putnam County Hospital.

Born in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Earl L. and Eula M. Sandlin Duff. Duff was a laborer with Local 204, member of the Greencastle Church of God and a veteran of the Army.

Born May 18, 1926 in Mount Salem, Ky., he was a son of the late Charles R. and Emma Montgomery Foley. He was a retired carpenter, cabinet maker and Army veteran of the Korean War.

She is survived by her daughter, Gladys King; one granddaughter, Betty Jo (Jeff) Naylor; one great-grandson, Nathan Wayne Naylor; her special niece, Pat Luster; and several other nieces and nephews.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years James T. "Bud" Gover of Stanford; 5 children Jamie Martin (Dr. M. Nicholas) of Lancaster, Betty Gover Lynn of Stanford, Bryan Gover (Jennifer) of Stanford, Gina Mullins (Dexter) of Stanford and Patty Gover Atwood of Lexington; 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; she was preceded in death by a brother James West.

STANFORD — Thomas “Tom” Graham, 73, of Stanford died Monday at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tenn.

Born April 22, 1936, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late William Graham and Mary Belle Asberry Graham Statom. He was a farmer.

Survivors include three sons, Thomas Graham Jr. (Rosalie) of Perryville, Randall Keith Graham (Eva) of McMinnville, Tenn., and Jerry Mark Graham of Stanford; a brother, Albert Graham, and a sister, Betty Allen, both of Shepherdsville, Ky.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Gail Grider.

STANFORD — Ada B. Snow Grider of Stanford, formerly of Kings Mountain, died Thursday.

Born Nov. 21, 1911, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late William and Angeline Stull Pullum. She had been a seamstress.

She also was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Snow and George Grider; two sons, Robert Jr. and Virgil Snow; and a daughter Corina Snow.

Survivors include her sons, Hollis James, Kenneth and Charles Snow; daughters, Eva Edwards, Ethel Wilson and Elsie Privett; and numerous grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Green River Pentecostal Church. Burial will be at K. P. Hall Cemetery.  Fox Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

CRAB ORCHARD — Mary Louise Miracle Gutenson, 77, of Stanford died Sunday at Rockcastle County Hospital in Mount Vernon.

Born Jan. 26, 1932, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Boyd and Clara Yentsch Miracle. She was a member of Mount Hebron Baptist Church. She was a former Sunday school teacher and church treasurer. She was an employee of Lincoln County Board of Education since 1974.

Survivors Include her husband, Edwin Gutenson Jr., whom she married May 7, 1955; children, Chuck (Bobbie) Gutenson of Maryland, Sandy (Jim) Davenport of Williamsburg, Ky., and Dan (Sheila) Gutenson of Crab Orchard; three grandchildren, Jake Gutenson, Sara Monroe and Hannah Gutenson; a brother, Robert (Aliene) Miracle of Nicholasville; two sisters, Joann (Bob) Jufer of Waynesburg and Becky (Charles) Tincher of Ohio.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Boyd T. Miracle.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mount Hebron Baptist Church by Chuck and Dan Gutenson. Burial will be in Mount Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2010, at McKnight Funeral Home and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mount Hebron Baptist Church.

Miss Edith Hall, 93, of Lexington passed away Sunday, January 17th, 2010 of natural causes. Miss Hall was born on October 29, 1916 in Wise, Virginia to William S. and Bertie Hall. In 1926, Edith moved with her family to Florida where she graduated from High School in 1933. Later in 1933, Miss Hall and her family moved to Crab Orchard, Kentucky, where they lived on her grandfather's farm.

Miss Hall started her working career as a young woman at Sanders Stores in Crab Orchard and Stanford. Following a brief stint with Goodyear Tire, Edith Started working for the finance department at Sears, Roebuck and Company in Lexington in 1947, where she remained until retiring in 1981. At the time of her retirement, Edith was the Audit Supervisor at Sears. Following retirements, Edith then worked part-time at Joe Dawhari's until 1984.

In addition to her parents, Edith was preceded in death by her siblings: Anna Mae Manness, Clyde E. Hall, Ernest Hall, Dorothy Rulon, Charles O. Hall and Greta LaVoy; and is survived by eight nieces and nephews and their children.

Edith Hall was a kind-hearted, independent woman who was loved by all who knew her. She led a full and productive life and will be deeply missed.

Mary Goode Harris, 92, passed away on Monday, January 4th. She was one of eight children born to Frank Lee and Laura Kennedy Goode, on February 7, 1917 in Lincoln County, Kentucky. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Ruth Evelyn Helm and seven brothers and sisters.

She came into her faith at an early age and joined Bethel A.M.E Church in the community of Boneyville. She was a faithful member until her illness.

She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Pearley Mae Embry, Stanford, KY; two grandsons, Tony (Michele) Helm, New York and Rodney (Ada) Embry, Louisville, KY; one granddaughter, Judy (John) Robertson, Cincinnati, OH; one son-in-law- Hubert Helm, Stanford, KY; four great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and great nieces, Nephews, cousins and friends at Golden Living Nursing Home in Stanford. Burial will be at Goode Cemetery .

Lucy Saylor Helton, age 76, died Monday, June 20, 2005 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. She was a native of Harlan County, Kentucky, a retired nurse's aide and attended Cartersville Holiness Church and Harmon's Lick Holiness Church.

Mrs. Saylor is survived by: daughters, Shirley Ann Switzer of Chicago, Ill., Laura Edna (Greg) Harris of Richmond, Phyllis (Roger) Lopez of Stanford, Ky., Gaylene (Gary)Pitts of Berea, Ky., Lisa (Donnie) Harold of Berea, Ky.; sons, Bobby Ray (Diane) Saylor of Chicago, Ill., Stanley Roger (Julie) Saylor of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Ricky Saylor of Crab Orchard, Ky., Tim E. (Karen) Saylor of Berea, Ky., Brittain Saylor of Brodhead, Ky.; brothers, Clentie (Hazel) Saylor of Berea, Ky.and A.T. (Theda) Saylor of Crab Orchard, Ky. 27 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Silas and Laura Brock Saylor and 2 grandchildren, Jeffrey Bailey and Chevy Saylor.

Funeral services for Mrs. Saylor will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Cartersville Holiness Church with Bro. Chuck Elam and Bro. Mark Saylor officiating. Burial will be in the Saylor Cemetery in Lincoln County. Visitation will be after 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

He was a member of the Kentucky Cattleman's Association and was a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church in Crab Orchard.

Survivors include his wife Leda Mae Hoskins; a daughter Patricia Diane Hoskins Bratcher (John) of Lexington; 3 grandchildren Michael Steven Bratcher (Tina) of Crab Orchard, Christopher Joseph Bratcher (Jamie) of King Mountain and William Wilson Bratcher of Lexington; 2 great grandchildren Ruby Ann Bratcher and Ella Jo Bratcher; he is preceded in death by 2 brothers Howard and Baughton Hoskins and 4 sisters Ocie Young, Nora Womack, Lois Jean Gordin and Oakie Brock.

Betty Alma Jean Jones, 61, of Kings Mountain, died Sunday, Jan. 24 in Lexington.

A native of Waynesburg, she was born Wednesday, April 14, 1948, to the late George Jones and Georgia Mae Jones Coleman. She was a cancer survivor and very active in Lincoln County's Relay for Life and a member of Kings Mountain Christian Church.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Harvey Jones and his wife Peggy; a stepfather, Troy Coleman; and a stepbrother, Robert Coleman.

Survivors include her sister and caretakers, Polly (Henry) Burton of Kings Mountain; brothers, Kenny and Richard Jones both of Kings Mountain; stepsisters, Rhonda Jones and Diane McKay of Kings Mountain; stepbrothers, Roy Coleman of Stanford and Ronald Coleman of Frankfort; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Ruth B. Russell Kurtz, 95, of Spokane, Wash., died Friday, Dec. 11.

A native of Lincoln County, she was born Oct. 2, 1914, to the late John Russell and Maggie Buchanan. She worked as a QA Inspector at the Belden Company in Richmond, Ind., an electronics QA technician at Conrac Corporation in Covina, Calif., and was the widow of Harold L. Kurtz. She loved to play Rook and had a small book published, by her son Barry, titled "I Have," which tells of her many unique life experiences.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly Jean, a twin to Barry.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Carlson of Glendale, Calif.; four sons, Harold R. (Diane) Kurtz of North Glenn, Colo., Ron (Leila) Kurtz of Spokane, Wash., Barry (Rachel) Kurtz of Meridian, Idaho and Terry Kurtz of Glendora, Calif.; 23 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and four great, great grandchildren.

Born March 23, 1939, he was the son of the late Manles and Grace Lasure. He was a retired employee of the city of Stanford and a member of Stanford Baptist Church. He was an avid collector, gardener and sportsman.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Janie Lasure; two daughters, Cindy Hancock (Travis) and Jennifer Turner (Toney), both of Stanford; three grandchildren, Nikki Wilson and Jacob and Morgan Turner; a great-grandson, Riley Walls; three sisters, Thelma Sebastian of Stanford, Alberta Wood of Danville and Mary Still of Louisville; four brothers, Charles E. Hubert Lynn, age 71, of Stanford, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2010 at Ft. Logan Hospital. Born Friday, February 4, 1938 in Casey County to the late William Hardin “Smith” Lynn and Mary Ellen Crawley Lynn, Hubert was a retired janitor for the Ft. Logan Hospital for 29 ½ years.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Louise Cochran.

Rev. Roy C. McGuffey, age 87, of Troy, OH passed on January 17, 2010 at his residence. He was born on January 21, 1922 in Hall's Gap, KY to the late Walter and Laura McGuffey.

Survivors include his wife of over 65 years, Helen McGuffey, daughter Angie, sons: Gary and Jeff; brothers: Arthur and Joseph; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Rev. McGuffey was preceded in death by brothers, Manford, Robert, Albert and Claude McGuffey; sisters, Eva Brackett, Beulah Robbins and Beatrice Young and one grandson, Daniel.

 He was a US Navy WWII Veteran and a graduate of Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO. STANFORD — Benny Lowell Moore, 71, of McKinney passed away Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born Wednesday, July 6, 1938, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Raymond and Mattie Carrier Moore. He was a retired cutter for Cowden’s Manufacturing Co. and a longtime employee of Whirlpool/ Matsushita. He was an avid gardener and a member of Dix River Coon Club and Green River Pentecostal Church. Benny was one of the oldest members of Dix River and his passion for coon hunting with his Walker hounds led to many awards and trophies over the years.

He also was preceded in death by four brothers, Walton, Charles, Frank and Glenn Moore; and a sister, Barbara Smith.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Shirley Hines Moore of McKinney; two sons, Nicholas Moore of Lincoln County and Nathan Moore and his wife, Brittany of McKinney; two brothers, Freddie Moore of Chase City, Va., and Larry Moore and his wife Joyce of McKinney; a special grandson, Benjamin Mason Moore; and a host of other relatives and friends.

David grew up in Stanford, KY, but had lived in Homestead, FL for the past 24 years. He was a 1971 graduate of Stanford High School and served in the United States Navy from 1975 until 1981. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Homestead FL and was employed by Florida Power & Light until shortly before his death.

Survivors include a wife, Debra Cunnane Morris; a daughter, Chantelle Alyssa Marie Morris and a son, David Bryce Carlton Morris all of Homestead FL. Born June 24, 1912, in Ellisburg, she was the daughter of the late Thomas T. and Mary E. Hafley. In 1929, she was married to Thomas S. Russell, who preceded her in death in 1956. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Ray “Shack” Russell and Elmer Thomas Russell.

Survivors include one son, Gilbert (Evelyn) Russell of Hustonville; four daughters, Helen Vanoy of Junction City, Velma Jean Douglas of Danville, Mary Ann (Bobby) Reeves of Danville and Vivian June Allison of Gallatin, Tenn.; three sisters, Dorothy Russell, Peachie Stevenson and Lily Mae Hogue; 14 grandchildren; four step grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was a lifelong, faithful member of the Ellisburg Baptist Church and served as secretary/treasurer for more than 50 years.

William E. "Billy" Tillett, 75, of Geneva, KY died Thursday at U.K. Hospital in Lexington. He was born May 18, 1934 in Lincoln County to the late Charles Everett and Sarah Bell Coontz Tillett. He retired from maintenance with Ellis Watts Manufacturing in Ohio and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include Shelly Polston Tillett of Geneva; a son Charles W. Tillett (Julie) of McKinney; two brothers Tommy Tillett (Leatha) of Stanford and Carlos Tillett (Wanda) of Geneva; 3 grandchildren Jessica Burton, Jessie Holland and Brandy Tillett; a great granddaughter Emma Tillett; Several neices and nephews; he was preceded in death by a brother Orville "Art" Tillett and a sister Lorraine Tillett Stidham.

CRAB ORCHARD — Virgil Eugene Toller, 82, of Florence, Ky., passed away Monday, Feb. 1, 2010, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence. He was the husband of Margaret Jewell Singleton Toller, whom he married on Jan. 5, 1947.

Virgil was born Sept. 20, 1927, in Vanceburg, Ky. He was the son of the late William and Lovell Fleinders Toller. He served in the U.S. Air Force and worked as a master mechanic for 60 years at the Chevrolet garage. He was a member of Landmark Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Margaret Singleton Toller of Florence; a daughter, Linda (Carrol) Rawlings of Florence; a son, Ronald Keith Toller of Florence; and a granddaughter, Margaret Lindsay Rawlings of Florence.

In addition to his parents, Virgil was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Toller; and five brothers Rival, Norman, Wendell, Eldon and Noble Toller.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at McKnight Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Ron Harp. Burial will be in Crab Orchard Cemetery.

WAYNESBURG — Dennie Turpin, 89, of Waynesburg, died Monday. Born Aug. 4 1920 in Naomi, Ky., he was the son of the late George and Vina Evaline Cundiff Turpin.

Dennie was preceded in death by his parents; a son, James Turpin; and nine siblings.

Dennie leaves behind seven sons; three daughters; two sisters; 24 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Eddie Dye officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Point Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Born March 4, 1969, in Lexington, he was a son of James Harvey and Dorothy Severance Wilder. He was a supervisor for Montaplast in Frankfort and a member of Fairview Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Melissa Wilder of Harrodsburg; a daughter, Samantha Shane Wilder, and a son, Justin Lee Adams, both of Harrodsburg; his parents; two brothers, Shawn and Jason Wilder, both of Crab Orchard; a grandson, Gavin Lee Adams; two nieces, Tabitha Wilder and Marayiah Wilder; and a nephew, Ajay Adams.

STANFORD — Ann Hackley Wyler, 79, of Stanford passed away Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born April 21, 1930, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Maret Milner and Leathor Bowling Hackley. Ann was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University and a business teacher with the Lincoln County School system, retired after 39 years of service. She was a member of Hebron Lakeside Church, Lincoln County Retired Teachers Association and the Pink Hat Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by her brother, Charles Elliot Hackley.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Rudolph “Bud” Wyler; three sons, Paul Edward Wyler (Susan) of Lancaster, David Bruce Wyler of Mount Washington and Norman Chris Wyler (Colleen) of Kingsport, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Laura Beth Livers, Deborah Ann Wyler and Christian Matthew Wyler; a great-grandchild, Caleb; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Hackley.

A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Hebron Lakeside Church by Pastor Robert Camenisch. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.

MASON, Ohio — Doyle Young, 74, of West Chester, Ohio, died Sunday.

Doyle Young was born on February 22, 1935 in Stanford, Lincoln County, Kentucky to Maynis and Zella Young. He died at his home in West Chester, Butler County, Ohio on January 10, 2010.

Doyle and his wife Wilma were married on September 2, 1953. They were raised in the Green River Pentecostal Church in Lincoln County, Kentucky. They moved to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1956. Doyle was employed for over 40 years with Hilton Davis, formerly Sterling Drugs where he served as a master carpenter. Upon his retirement in 1999, he moved from Anderson Township to West Chester, Ohio. Throughout his life, he and his family remained actively involved in church and church ministry.

As a boy he enjoyed hunting and as an adult he enjoyed woodworking and gardening. He was very involved with his grandchildren, especially so during his retirement.

He remains very much loved by his friends at work and in church.

Doyle Young, 74, beloved husband of Wilma Faye Young (nee Eversole), dear father of Theresa Kaye Cummins (Bill) and the late Pamela Faye Short (Richard), grandfather of Andrea Cummins, Derek Short and Brandon Short, brother of Kathy Bott (John) and the late Jesse Barnett.
