Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at Boneyville Baptist Church in Stanford, Ky. Burial will be in Milton-Simpson Cemetery.

Glen R. Austin, 89, formerly of Somerset, passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at Golden Living Center in Stanford. Glen was born Sunday, December 5, 1920 in the New Salem area of
Lincoln County to the late Henry Jason and Emma Pearl Walls Austin. He was a graduate of the old McKinney School, a retired supervisor with Diamond Chains in IN. A US Army Air Corp veteran of WW II,
attended Highland United Methodist Church and was a member of New Salem Baptist Church. Glen will be remembered for his love of basketball, fishing and most of all, his gift of making and repairing clocks.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Betty Louise Butt Austin; an infant daughter, Glenda Taylor Austin; five brothers, Jason, Jr., Arnold, Orville, Eugene and Donald Austin; and two
sisters, Betty Faye Sims and Alma McWhorter.

He is survived by his brother, Kenneth Austin and his wife, Donna of New Salem; his sisters, Edith Johnson and her husband, Orville of New Salem and Shirley Maples and her husband, Freeman of
Hustonville; his sister-in-laws, Dorothy Austin of Danville, Violet James & Sandra Austin, both of Stanford, Myrtle Austin of New Salem and Geraldine Austin of Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
[Also survived by sister-in-law Violet Butt James.]
 
An Appreciation of Life service will be 12 noon Saturday, November 6th at Highland United Methodist Church by Rev. Don Scilley and Bro. Jared Moore. Burial will follow in Highland Methodist Church Cemetery

CRAB ORCHARD — Lavern Ruby Irvin Ayers, 70, wife of William Jerry Ayers, died Monday, Oct. 18, 2010, at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center.

Born on April 2, 1940, in Lincoln County, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Lester and Irene Smallwood Ayres. She was a member of Crab Orchard Baptist Church.

She loved being a mother and grandmother. Her favorite hobby was flower gardening.

Survivors include her husband, William Jerry Ayers; two children, Cheri (John) Kuhn and William Craig Ayers; three granddaughters, Brittanee-Paige (Perry) Bolduc, Arika (Devin) Estes and Irena
Manuel; two great-grandchildren, Alexa and Eiryn Estes; a step grandson, John Alexander Kuhn III; and a step-great-grandson, Ashton John Kuhn.

In addition to her parents, Lavern was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Irvin; and a step granddaughter, Brandy Lynn Kuhn.

Services were 11 a.m. today, Oct. 22, 2010, at Crab Orchard Baptist Church by Bro. Isaiah Super. Burial is in Manuel Cemetery on Pine Grove Road.

Pallbearers are Cheri and John Kuhn, Devin Estes, Clay and Lance Hardwick and Matt Lombardo.

Honorary pallbearers are Bill Dyehouse, Perry Bolduc and Donald Manuel.

WAYNESBURG — Galen Freeman Caldwell, 79, widower of Violet Stone Caldwell of Waynesburg, died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010, at the Veteran’s Administration Medical Center in Lexington.
He was born Saturday, Oct. 17, 1931, in Waynesburg to the late A.K. and Julia Jenkins Caldwell. He was a lifelong cattle broker with friends and acquaintances throughout the central and southern
Kentucky regions. He was a graduate of the old Waynesburg School and a member of Double Springs Baptist Church.
Freeman served with distinction in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, where he received numerous honors for his military service, including the Bronze Star for valor in combat and the
Purple Heart. He was a kind and generous man, who never met a stranger and was a friend to everyone he encountered.  
He is preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife; and two grandsons, Galen Caldwell and Ricky Bussell.
He is survived by a son, Stephen Caldwell and his wife, Cassie, of Stanford; his three daughters, Karen Caldwell and her husband, Lloyd Cress, of Lexington, Cindy Sears of Lexington and Mitzy
Caldwell of Versailles; four grandchildren, Stephanie Caldwell McElroy, Rachel Czernin and her husband, Max, Celessa Noe and her husband, Michael, and Samuel Sears; and five great-grandchildren.
An Appreciation of Life service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 8, at Grace Fellowship Church in Stanford by Bro. Vola Brown. Burial will follow in Double Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3 p.m.
today at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may go to Grace Fellowship Church.
Mike, Ed, Ryan and Eric Caldwell, Michael Noe, Max Czernin, Lloyd Cress and Dan Barnett will serve as pallbearers. Samuel Sears, Trent and Cole McElroy, Aiden, Collin and Gavin Noe, and James

BRODHEAD — Carter Lee Caudill, 79, husband of Jean Stevens Caudill of West Melbourne, Fla., died Oct. 14, 2010, at his daughter’s residence in Malabar, Fla.

Born July 10, 1931, in Crab Orchard, Ky., he was the son of the late Carter and Anna Brown Caudill. On Dec. 27, 1951, he was united in marriage to his wife Jean, and they shared 58 wonderful
years together. He served our country as a staff sergeant in the United Sates Air Force. He was an electrical engineer in the Aerospace Industry. Carter was a member of the Melbourne Church of Christ, and
will be remembered for his love of woodworking, gardening and helping others.

Carter will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Jean Stevens Caudill of West Melbourne, Fla.; a daughter, Linda Burell (Jeff) of Malabar, Fla.; two grandchildren, Bryan Norton of Palm Bay, Fla., and Jonathan
Burell of Malabar, Fla.; a brother, Jesse D. Caudill (Peggy) of Cincinnati, Ohio; three sisters, JoAnn Simpson and Shirley Shelley, both of Cincinnati, and Clara Proctor (Bobby) of Brodhead, Ky.; and a host of
nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

He also was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Elder.

Funeral services for Mr. Carter Lee Caudill will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22, 2010, at Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals with the Rev. Josh McKibben officiating. Interment will
follow in Bethel Cemetery.

Visitation will be noon-1 p.m. Friday at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals.

George Coffman, 96, of South Fork, KY went to be with his Lord on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010. He was born May 29, 1914 in Lincoln County to the late Bob and Mealie Coffman. He was the husband
of the late Louise Eggart Coffman. He was a self employed Dump Truck driver and backhoe operator. He was a member of Geneva Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Paulette Hazlett (Tony) of South Fork; five sons, Danny Coffman (Sandy), Bobby Coffman (Juanita), Mickey, Ronnie and Joey Coffman all of South Fork; a brother Dewey
Coffman of Geneva; three sisters, Ruby Marlowe of Geneva, Lily McMullins of Stanford and Roberta Estes of Geneva; 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by a daughter Regina Stanley, a son Donald Ray Coffman, a brother Tody Coffman and a sister Luellen Wray.

Visitation will be Tuesday, 5-9 at Spurlin Funeral Home, services will be 2 P.M. Wednesday at Spurlin Funeral Home with Reverend Tim Brown officiating. Burial will be in McKinney Cemetery.

Vedenia Mae Walls Coleman, 78, of Hustonville died Sunday, October 17, 2010, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. She was born January 26, 1932 in Lincoln County, Ky.
to the late John Singleton and Della Mae Singleton. She was a homemaker, and believed in the Pentecostal Faith.

Survivors include her husband Clyde Coleman of Hustonville, Ky.; two sons Brian Keith Walls (Jennifer) of Hustonville, Ky. and Jimmy D. Walls (Donna) of Stanford, Ky.; and three step-sons; two
daughters Tia Rennee Woolson (Patrick) Hustonville, Ky. and Bobbie Jean Lunsford (Paul) Georgetown, Ky.; and two step-daughters.; one sister Catherine Osborne of Lorraine, Oh.; five
grandchildren and several step-grandchildren.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her former husband Elmer Walls; four brothers Harmon Singleton, Clarence Singleton, Clyde Singleton and Grover Singleton; three sisters Mary McKnight, Evelyne Taylor
and Edith Shelton; and a granddaughter Beth Ann Walls.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 19, 2010 form 6-9, Funeral service will be 2 P.M. Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at Spurlin Funeral Home. Reverends Lonnie Goodin and Dale Seares will be officiating.
Burial will be in Ephesus Cemetery.

MORELAND — Harold Eais Cox, 73, of Hustonville, died Friday, Nov.19, 2010.

Born Oct. 18, 1937, he was the son of the late Lewis and Esther Marie Cox.

He is survived by his brother, John (Paula) Cox of Hustonville; three sisters: Connie (Carroll) Reed of Hustonville, Faye (Donnie) White of Liberty and Nellie (Bobby) Beard of Columbia; one niece,
Marie Reed; and five nephews, Tyler and Justin Cox, Shannon White, and Troy and Chris Beard.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by Pastor Bud Stidham, with burial in Tapscott Cemetery.

Catherine Rigsby Curry, 88, of Stanford died Tuesday at Ft. Logan Hospital in Stanford. She was born September 3, 1922 in Lincoln County to the late John T. and Wadie Mae Thompson Rigsby.
She was a graduate Lancaster High School and the University of Kentucky. She was a homemaker and a member of Stanford Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband Dr. Bradford Curry, to whom she was married to on June 22, 1944, of Stanford; several nieces and nephews, several great-nieces and nephews.; she was preceded in death
by two sisters, LaVerne Rigsby Walker (Walter Owsley Walker) and Louise Rigsby Hester (William Burch Hester).

Visitation will be Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010, from 5-8 at Spurlin Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 2 P.M. Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010, visitation at the church beginning at 1 P.M. Reverend Max Hester

Born May 24, 1959, in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was a son of the late Carl and Lena Alice (Abbott) Denney. Danny was a former employee of R.R. Donnelley and attended Stanford First Church of God.

Ruby Marie Dixon, 95, of Waynesburg, Ky., passed away Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, at her residence.
Born Sept. 13, 1915, in Benham, Ky., she was a daughter of the late William Bradley “W.B.” and Malinda Hodge Brown. She was a homemaker and a member of Olive Baptist Church.
Survivors include two nieces, whom she raised, Janice Carter of Eubank and Malinda Pennington of Metamora, Ind.; a sister-in-law, Christine Brown of Cincinnati, Ohio; a half brother, William Clyde
“W.C.” Brown of Pennington Gap, Va.; and four generations of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve A. Dixon, whom she married on Dec. 24, 1937, and who died on Aug. 2, 2003; her parents, a brother, Elmer Brown; and a sister, Georgia Grace.
A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010, at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Bert Hall officiating. Burial will be in Double Springs Cemetery.

Born in Lincoln County on Sept. 1, 1938, he was a son of the late Arnold Durham and Mary Nichols Durham Owsley. He worked as a farmer and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include two brothers, Arnold Durham Jr. of Lancaster and Bobby Durham of Stanford; a sister, Jenny Marie Durham of Bowling Green; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ernest was
preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Simpson.

Born Sept. 9, 1927, he was the son of the late Gobel and Mattie Lee Gaddis Gibson. He was a
retired farmer and construction worker. He loved horses and was a member of New Hope
Baptist Church.  Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Charlotte Rousey Gibson; a son, Howard Edward (Jett) Gibson Jr. of Hayworth, Ill; a daughter, Glenda (Paul Ray) Jeffries of Moreland; a sister,
Margie Crowe of Bloomington, Ill.; six grandchildren, Derrick and Charity Gibson, Chris (Jeannie) Cooper, Candace (Jeremy) McAninch, Chris Jeffries and Kendra (Vance) Mitchell; nine great-grandchildren,
Cali, Morgan, Mallorie, Jansen, Gatlin, Tanner, Hailey, Hannah and Teron; and extended family, Christine and Amber Jones. He was preceded in death by two brothers, James “Sug” and Donald Lee Gibson; and a
sister, Lela Boyd.

Friday, May 14th, 1943 to Raymond and Golden Williams. Raised in Eubank, Kentucky by her grandparents Henry and Charity Johnson. What brought her most pleasure beyond her family were close friends,
flower gardens, spending time at the ocean, going to yard sales and meeting new people.
Sylvia is survived by her husband Clell, three daughters Marilyn Gooch and her husband Ken of Waynesburg; Carolyn Combs of Waynesburg, Regina McDowell and her husband Buddy of Georgetown,
three sons, Tommy Gooch and his wife Tracy of Crab Orchard, Jimmy Gooch and his wife Beverly of Nicholasville, Wayne Gooch of Waynesburg; one sister Beverly Morris and her husband Wally of
Somerset; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren.

Zettie Hamm, 88, passed away Thursday, October 7, 2010 at Ephraim McDowell Ft. Logan Hospital.  She was born Wednesday, December 7, 1921 in Casey County to the late Esquire B. and Margaret
Hatfield Patten. She was a homemaker and a member of South Fork Baptist Church. Granny Hamm loved her church and singing and will be remembered for her love of quilting.

She is preceded in death by her parents, B. & Mag Patten; her husband, Vaughn R. Hamm, Sr.; her daughter, Patricia Sue Hamm; three brothers and three son-in-laws.

She is survived by her sons, J.R. Hamm and his wife, Brenda and Welby Hamm and his wife, Margarett, all of Stanford; his daughters, Wanda Barrett of Stanford and Joyce Mitchell of Waynesburg; her brother,
Welby Patten of Vanceburg; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.

Born May 25, 1957, in Boyle County, he was a son of the late Arthur and Ethel Byrd Harris. He was a farmer, loved sports and also preceded in death by companion, Margaret Belcher.

Survivors include a daughter, Angela (Dewayne) Tyree; stepdaughter, Margo (Jason) Turpin; stepson, Anthony (Mary Beth) Belcher; brothers, Andrew, Rodney and Will Harris; sisters, Sheila Harris and

MORELAND — Eula Pauline Cook Hubbard “Grandmother Hubbard,” 84, of Moreland died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010. 
Born Oct. 22, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Roxie Powell Cook. She was a member of Moreland Christian Church and was known as Grandmother Hubbard to the many children she
loved and cared for over the past 36 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Hubbard Jr.
Survivors include a daughter, Joyce (James) Bandy, and a son, Roger Hubbard, both of Moreland; a sister, Agnes Sneed of Louisville; four grandchildren, Brian, Shea and Melissa Bandy and Anthony

Lena Lucille Cain Kelley, 80, of Stanford, widow of Harold L. Kelley, died Monday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Born June 15, 1930 in the Turnersville
Community of Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Erie Estes Cain.

Mrs. Kelley was a longtime and faithful member of the Turnersville Christian Church where she served as song leader and Sunday School Teacher, she was employed by the Lincoln County Farm Bureau
Federation, serving as the secretary of that organization for 18 years. She was editor of their monthly newsletter and was instrumental in starting the blood drives for the Central Kentucky Blood Center
held at the Farm Bureau Building. After her retirement, she remained actively involved with the Women's Committee and the blood drives to keep in touch with the donors. On the volunteer level, she served the
community by holding leadership roles in PTA, 4-H and Homemaker extension programs. She was a member of the McKinney Alumni Association and the Stanford Garden Club.

She is survived by a son, Steven Lee (Kathy) Kelley of Stanford; one daughter, Donna (Edward) Carpenter of Danville; one brother, Donald (Coleen) Cain of Stanford; four grandchildren, Melissa (Jacob)
Titman of Mentor, OH, Lesley (Alan) Johnson of Rockford, IL, Erin Kelley of Panama and Justin Lee Kelley of Lexington; three great-grandchildren, Evan Luke Johnson, Liam Alan Johnson and Caroline Ann
Titman; Mrs. Kelley was preceded in death by her parents, a son Benjamin Cain Kelley and a sister, Madaline Durham.

Jensen Beach, Florida. His passion was playing golf and he was always looking for that "perfect driver". He was an avid reader and enjoyed solving a "New York Times' crossword puzzle.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Sheila Bailey Kidd and daughter Lisa Ann Kidd. He leaves behind sisters Barbara Cooper and Peggy Royce, and a brother Bill Kidd. Dick also leaves behind several nieces and
nephews and his devoted chocolate lab, Katie.

Margie Pauline Gresham Mattingly, 82, of St. Marys, WV, passed away after a brief illness on Sunday, October 17. Margie was born in Moreland, KY and spent her childhood days in Lincoln County, KY. She
was a graduate of the Wood County Vocational School of Practical Nursing Program in Parkersburg, WV and completed her requirements for Registered Nurse at Hocking Technical College in Nelsonville, OH.
She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit of St. Joseph’s Hospital in Parkersburg, WV and as a Nursing Instructor at Colin Anderson Center in St. Marys, WV. She held several
medical certifications and was extremely active in the community teaching First Aid, CPR and other medical courses to various groups. Her dedication to her profession and tireless efforts were recognized by
community and medical leaders alike.

Margie was also a Notary Public and leasing agent in the oil and gas business in her early career. In later years, she and her husband, Robert, were the owners and proprietors of the Silver Spur Night Club in
St. Marys, WV. During those years, she booked popular bands such as McGuffy Lane, Randy Travis, Alabama, Lee Greenwood and the Gatlin Brothers.

Always up for a new adventure and challenge, Margie enjoyed traveling and made many trips throughout the US and other parts of the world. She joined her husband in Alaska while he worked on the Alaskan
 pipeline and traveled extensively throughout the Alaskan wilderness with great bravado and a sense of adventure. She especially liked fishing for salmon while in Alaska. A highlight for both of them, when the
pipeline was completed, was returning to West Virginia by way of the very rugged and unpopulated Alcan Highway. Margie also enjoyed bowling with her nursing friends in earlier days as well as deep sea fishing
in the South and was a gifted musician who could play the piano by ear after hearing a song only once. Margie had a love for life and a spirit for fun and was also a great story teller with a wonderful sense of humor.
Margie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Robert Lee Mattingly, Sr., who passed away on September 7, 2010; her father and mother, Watt and Peachie May Gresham; brothers William, Dee,
Edgar, Bus and Luther Gresham; sisters Nell Bracket, Catherine Manning, and Evelyn Atwood. She is survived by her children Peggy Ware (Steven) of Mountain Lakes, NJ; Robert Leo Mattingly of Waverly, WV;
and Mary Lynn Carlton (Gary) of Placerville, CA; grandchildren Jeff Mattingly, Nina DeCoster (Will), Spencer Ware, and Ben Mattingly; step grandchildren Matthew Carlton (Lisa), Dan Carlton, and Becca
Carlton; great granddaughter Georgia DeCoster and great grandson Crosby Sebastien DeCoster; and step great granddaughters Jillian and Allison Carlton; sisters Christine Grant and Lucille Smith, and numerous
cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held in W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home, Hustonville, KY on Friday, October 22 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m., with funeral services by Brother Jonathan Grizzell following at 2:00 p.m. Burial will
be at the Moreland Cemetery in Moreland, KY. Pallbearers are Robert L. Mattingly, Jr., Benjamin Joseph Mattingly, Steven M. Ware, Spencer Mattingly Ware, Gary Carlton, Robert C. Gresham, James Logan

Norma was the widow of Chester Arthur Mullins, who preceded her in death in 1985.

Born March 2, 1920, in Hindman, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Sarah Boyln Hall. She was a former employee of Cowdens Manufacturing and a member of the New Salem
Association of the Old Regular Baptist.

Survivors include a son, Lance (Esther) Mullins of Bowling Green; a daughter, Charlotte (Cary) McDaniels of Stockbridge, Ga.; four half-siblings; three grandchildren, Linda (David) Miller, Teresa (Brett)

US Air Force veteran and in his 19 years of service, he was a munitions systems specialist and a member of the honor guard. After his years with the Air Force, Kenneth went to work at Corning in
Harrodsburg as a fork lift operator. He was a Baptist and enjoyed fishing and hunting. But most of all, he will be remembered for his love of his grandchildren and doing special things with them,
especially go-Kart racing.


He is preceded in death by, Hershel Owens; and a sister, Peggy Pagliarulo.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Debbie Owens of Stanford; his daughter, Kelly Ammons of Stanford; his grandchildren, McKenzie and Collin; his parents, Betty and Kenneth Jones of London; his

He is survived by his wife, Wilma Stickler Padgett; four children, Michael (Amy) Padgett of Danville, Kellie (Mike) Miracle of Waynesburg, Rose (Delbert) Durham of Stanford and Dennise (Jimmy)
Wade of Perryville; three brothers, Jimmy (Janice) Padgett of Waynesburg, Roger Padgett of Daytona, Fla., and Shane Padgett of Waynesburg;  three sisters, Joyce (Robert) Coleman of McKinney, Lucille
(Shelby) Justice of Waynesburg and Eva (Jack) Hazlett of Stanford; six grandchildren, Alexis Padgett, Matthew Slone, Trevor Miracle, Nicholas Wade, Brandon Durham and Krystal Durham; and one
great-grandchild, Elexis Durham.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Bob Padgett and David “Tiny” Padgett.

A funeral service will be 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010, at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home in Science Hill with Bro. Vola Brown officiating. Burial will be in Double Springs Cemetery. Visitation was

MORELAND — Joseph Vincent Peyton, 61, of Knoxville, Tenn., formerly of Hustonville, died Friday, Nov. 5, 2010. 
Born June 12, 1949, he was a son of the late Herman and Nina Cox Peyton. He was a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a degree in civil engineering and a master’s from the
University of Tennessee. He worked for the TVA as senior engineer, where he had worked since college. He was an avid biker and snow skier.
Survivors include his brother, Bill (Beverly) Peyton, and niece, Iris Peyton, all of Hustonville.

Virgil “Tom” Plummer, 78, of Stanford died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2010. He was the husband of Mildred Murphy Plummer.
 Born Dec. 24, 1931, in Boyle County, he was a son of the late James and Rose Hill Plummer. He worked at Burkes Bakery and Centre College and attended Stanford Church
of the Nazarene.  Survivors include his wife; two children, Pamela (Marl) Daugherty of Danville and Richard (Connie) Plummer of Paducah, Ky.; three grandchildren, Tommy Plummer,
Jeremy Daugherty  and Michael Daugherty; one great-grandchild, Brianna Daugherty; and two brothers, James Plummer of St. Petersburg, Va., and Jerry Plummer of Lexington.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Stith Funeral Home with Jason Coulter and Harley Humfleet officiating. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.

CRAB ORCHARD — Gloria Jean Blanton Rogers, 76, of Danville passed away Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. She was the wife of Cecil Rogers,
whom she married on June 1, 1950.  Born March 23, 1934, in Knox Co., Ky., she was the on the daughter of the late John C. and Elsie Chadwell Blanton. She was a retired employee of Whirlpool
and a member of Friendship Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Cecil E. Rogers of Danville; daughters, Darlene Hurt of Danville, Kathy Stevens of Parksville and Kim (Lynn) Cain of McKinney; sons, Kenny (Debbie)
Rogers of Danville and Kalvin (Brenda) Rogers of Junction City; sisters, Florene (Levi) Messer and Sharon (Darrell) Clausen, both of Ottenheim, and Loretta (Lester) Smith of Stanford; brothers,

He was born Jan. 23, 1923, in Rockcastle County to the late Samuel and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Cress Sayers.

William is survived by a daughter, Marilyn (John) Morris of Stanford; a granddaughter, Ashley (Brian) Ward; and a great-grandson, Elijah Ward. William was preceded in death by his wife,
Allene Sayers; a son William Ronald Sayers; three brothers, Glenn, Clint and Henry Clay Sayers; and a sister, Helen Belcher.

WAYNESBURG — Raymond Stull, 90, of Kings Mountain, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, at Norton-Suburban Hospital in Louisville.
Born Wednesday, Dec. 10, 1919, in Kings Mountain, he was a son of the late John Henry and Mattie Privett Stull. Raymond was a retired farmer, merchandiser and owner of a fertilizer business.
He was a member of the old Kings Mountain Methodist Church and Ruritan Club. He was very active for many years with fundraising for Pleasant Point Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Jane Stull; his son, Robert Stull; a son-in-law, Jerry Moore; two brothers, Elmer and Jasper Stull; and a sister, Dorothy Gooch.
Survivors include two daughters, Carole Moore of Kings Mountain and Sue (Bill) Buckman of Frankfort; a daughter-in-law, Judy Stull of Kings Mountain; a brother, Carlton (Flora) Stull of Kings

STANFORD — Janet Uldine Trimble, 74, of Hustonville, formerly of Versailles and Myrtle Beach, S.C., passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010, at her residence.
Born on Monday, Aug. 31, 1936, in New Salem, she was a daughter of the late Bill and Pauline Wilcher Kennedy. Janet wed Arthur L. “Cotty” Trimble of Hustonville on Oct. 15, 1955. She
was a homemaker and a member of Versailles Methodist Church. Janet loved the beach.
Janet leaves behind her husband of 55 years, Arthur; two sons, Jeffery (Rose) Trimble and Kyle (Melissa) Trimble, both of Lexington; a daughter, Pauletta (Buck) Owens of Hustonville;
two grandchildren, Jamie and Sherman Owens; and four great-grandchildren, Veronica, Brittany, Maecee and Daniel Owens.

Willie Turpin, 88, of Eubank, died Monday, Oct. 11 at his residence.

Born Aug. 4, 1922, in Naomi, Ky., Willie was a son of the late George and Vinnie Cundiff Turpin. He was a groundskeeper at Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, Wyo., a veteran of the
Army and a member of Cheyenne Baptist Church and V.F.W.

Survivors include his wife, Mary K. Padgett Turpin of Eubank; two sons, Merle Turpin of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Johnnie (Pam) Turpin of Eubank; two daughters, Marie (Richard) Wade of Houston,

Born April 11, 1917, he was a son of the late Clark and Lula M. Helm Welch. He was a former employee of the state highway department, a wall plasterer and an Army
veteran of World War II.  Survivors include his wife, Vyvyan Welch; his children, Charlotte Cline of Trumbull, Conn., Vicci Penman, Michael Welch and Beverly Guest, all of Stanford; nine grandchildren;
20 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Jo Welch.

Mrs. Flora Elizabeth Carson White age 93, died on Monday, October 11, 2010. She was born on May 10, 1917 and was the daughter of the late Napolion “A.B.” Carson and the late Elizabeth Lackey Carson.

She was preceded in death by her son Gary M. Miller, sisters, Viola Carson, Sue Ada Carson, Della Mae Parker, Mattie Pearl Alcorn, and brother Sammuel Carson.

Mrs. White was a graduate of Lincoln High School Stanford, KY. She was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church, where she served in several positions.

She worked in Louisville, KY for the U.S. Government making equipment and supplies for the U.S. Armed Forces during WW II.
Mrs. White was also employed as private duty worker, a cook and retired from Kentucky School for the Deaf, Danville, KY.

Mrs. White leaves to cherish her loving memory, daughters, Olivia M. Coffman, Jemelia Rosenthal, Marcia Carson, Bobbie Sue Carson; her son, Earl Carson; caregiver and granddaughter,
Stacey Harrison; 16 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 12 great- great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
