PETTUS, Dr. J. Henry

PETTUS. - Dr. J. Henry Pettus  died at his home at Crab Orchard Saturday morning after a protracted illness of pneumonia, aged 28. He is survived by a wife, who was Miss Merimee, and two bright,
pretty little children. Dr. Pettus was a son of the late Dr. J. D. Pettus and was a warm-hearted, clever young man. He was a Mason and an Odd Fellow and his popularity with his brothers was shown by
127 of them attending his funeral by Rev. O. M. Huey at the Baptist church, Crab Orchard, Sunday morning. Early in life Dr. Pettus professed religion and let us hope that he is now basking in the
sunshine of the God Who gave him. The widow and children, aged mother, sisters and brothers have much sympathy in their dark hour of sorrow.
