SHANKS,
Hayden S.
Shanks,
Hayden S. Shanks died at his home in Rowland on the afternoon of the 14th after
a
protracted
illness of pneumonia, aged 33 years.
He
is survived by his wife, who was a daughter of Mr. John Delaney, and three
children.
Burial
occurred in Buffalo cemetery after services at the late home by Mr. J. C.

A
large number of friends followed the remains to Stanford's pretty little city of
the dead, attesting to some extent the popularity of the deceased. Mr. Shanks
was a
warm-hearted, clever man and if he had any enemies at all, they are certainly
few in number. He was always in a good humor and his wit was greatly enjoyed by
his legion of friends.
A
pity it is that one so well liked should be taken away in the very prime of
life. May the sod lie gently upon his grave.
